Ok, in that light I will say you have opened up a possibility, that we can't know one way or the other at this moment. I will say also that it sounds totally plausible in a drug deal for a person not holding any drugs to make the sales pitch and receive the money. Then someone else delivers the drug. In a lot of bad neighborhoods the drug dealers use children. It by design makes things harder to put together. She got money but gave nothing. The cop gets a tablet from someone else who received nothing. Do you see?

I agree the reporting in the Philippines could be better. I'm going off of the "if it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck, walks like a duck, it's probably a duck" as the elements are there. I can't make the instant jump to the GF handed over a pill for money and they instantly went to the foreigner to arrest him on no more than that he was in the room.

I can see it as it was a sting. They were expecting to catch the foreigner who was likely their target and they probably had plenty of small evidence suggesting he ran things. I'm thinking along the lines of someone who's probably a bit smarter and would know keep your hands out of the deal not touching the product or money which is what the expendable GF was for. Why avoid most of the deal just to touch the end product himself?

In the end its probably just horrible reporting but as they quoted the "transacted" with Manas (GF) part it jumped out at me.

If I buy a house from you in a realtors office and hand you the check, a transaction has occurred even though you haven't handed me a house. When I buy a sausage McMuffin with egg at McDo and pay for it, a transaction has happened even though I have not received my McMuffin yet. I would think you have a better understanding of what a transaction is, being you have a small business.

A few tabs of ecstasy.... why blow my mind. If an estimated 30,million Filipino smoke shabu and it's a mandatory life in prison, then almost one third of the population would be locked up. No wonder evidence against high-level drug traffickers remains limited and majority of LEO'S have one eye shut! But again ( a Global problem)
It's going to take a lot to clean house. Thanks out to those that saved the Philippines from some ecstacy tabs and let's keep in mind the TONS of shabu smoked daily!

And that's just what is smoked (or sold) by the police. Or so some would say. If more than 1/4th of the population is smoking Shabu and police actually have opportunities to obtain it free, what would you expect to happen? I wish police the world over had to submit to at least a weekly urine test so people could weed out who was who.

Perhaps people should be asking "Why is 1/3 of the population getting high?" instead of saying, "let's lock 1/3 of the population up for the rest of their lives". However, I'm not so sure the number is anywhere close to 30 million.....the number is quite ridiculous if one thinks about it; take away the elderly and young children (who likely don't make up the bulk of drug users) and that would mean that around half of working age adults is smoking shabu. Methamphetamine might be a problem in the Philippines....but it is not THAT big of a problem.

Most people use mind altering drugs to modify the perspective of reality they live in. The question is why would a Filipino waking up with the prospect of a day without electricity, maybe no water available at times, if it is pumped using electricity, the opportunity of working a temporary job for 6 months at a time with no job growth potential , but with a daily earnings potential of at least two Jolibee meals for a full days work and then want to modify the real perspective of their life? It is more fun in the Philippines..... :o o: Maybe the real question should be what is 2/3 of the population doing to cope with life? .... remember life is for people who can not handle the realities of drugs. :o o:

Using drugs (including ethanol) to cope with ones problems is a recipe for addiction and I'd bet that the addiction rate in the Philippines is high because of this. This might be one reason why so many locals drink until they throw up/pass out. It is their escape from the realities of life. This is not unique to Filipinos though, I see foreigners here using drugs to escape their problems every single time I go to a bar as well.
