[IMG]Together, 2 years ago in Indonesia - Myself & wife with our son & daughter
A WORKING dad has been unable to hug his wife and children for 10 months because immigration bosses say he does not earn enough money.

Ralph Leadbetter has told how his young family have been ‘torn apart’ by a law that has left his loved-ones living 8,000 miles away.

The only contact the Sidmouth hotel supervisor has with his Indonesian wife of six-and-a-half years, Ervina, and children Harry, five, and Malika, two, is a weekly phone call.

He recently bought a three-bedroom ‘dream home’ in Church Street, Sidford, but they cannot enjoy it with him because he does not make £18,600-a-year.

“The house should be filled with life and children shouting and Evi calling from the kitchen,” said Ralph. “I don’t want to raise them by Skype.

The 45-year-old even made a personal plea to Prime Minister David Cameron – only to receive a reply from the Home Office saying Ervina would be a ‘burden on the tax payer’.
‘I’ve not seen my wife and kids for 10 months’ - News - Sidmouth Herald

We even have a guy from my home town who is struggling to keep his wife there,I think she is now there but only temp visa.
Maybe we have to help some of these migrants but they shouldn't forget their own people.
Same for me though, the kid can go anytime on a Brit passport bit the wife stays here.

I can take a lot of things but when Countries start taking in These Refugees yet can't look after their own people First, I can get Blinkered. When they can and do, I might, Just might, start agreeing
But to me it is all wrong, This should have been sorted Years ago, but No let it fester till the s...t hits the fan I was in Elementary in 57 when the Hungarian Uprising gave my small Town 250 of the buggers and what a problem they caused, These will be the same, Demand this and demand that and GET it. Sorry! but No for me, it is a Big NO! and it is only happening because Brussels says so. Yet we all complain that the Money is running out. Now they want to spend more on something that is again Not really our Problem. SO, Are the US taking any?:jawdrop:

There are exceptions to every rule but I don't feel we should punish everyone because 0.001% of a group are assholes. (Kinda the same as all expats being labeled child molesters because of a few assholes. Wouldn't be right if they blocked all foreigners from coming into the Philippines because of a few pedophiles, now would it?)

Too Political a subject for a full answer but to this part I will say, it will do away with trying to serve 2 masters and get rid of Brussels and the Stupid Laws that have constrained the UK:wink:

Nothing Surprises me anymore but I just cant see the reality in calling this a Proper (Even Shock) Opinion Poll! A poll of just over 1000 from a nation of 70+ million? These will be Mail Readers and whilst it is a great Newspaper, it's Reader Numbers are in the main White Collar. I won't Hold My Breath until we see the Results of Official Polls from across the Board.

A majority of voters are ready to vote for Britain to leave the European Union, according to a shock opinion poll.

The Survation poll for The Mail on Sunday found that if a referendum was held tomorrow 51% would vote to quit the EU against 49% who would vote to remain.

The findings run counter to a string of recent polls which have consistently shown comfortable majorities in favour of staying in.

[IMG]© Provided by Press Association A majority of voters want Britain to leave the EU, a poll suggests
As recently as July, a Survation poll gave the "in" camp a 54% to 46% advantage.

Politicians will be wary of reading too much into one survey - particularly given the closeness of the margin.

Nevertheless it is likely to set alarm bells ringing in Downing Street ahead of David Cameron's promised referendum - which must take place before the end of 2017.

It will also provide a huge fillip for the "out" campaign ahead of a possible Commons rebellion by Eurosceptic Tories when MPs return to Westminster following the summer break on Monday.

The poll suggested that the margin in favour of leaving could grow if the migrant crisis continues - with 22% of those who said they would vote to stay indicating they could change their minds if the situation worsened.

The poll, of 1,004 people, was carried out by Survation between September 3 and 4.
