    Buglasan Festival, an agriculture-tourism fair

    “EVERY October, residents of Dumaguete as well as visitors from the municipalities and cities of Negros Oriental gathered at the Capitol grounds stand in awe at the structural and creative designs of different cottages lining the road that circles Ninoy Aquino Freedom Park. The cottages or booths are the show windows of the cities and municipalities of the province.

    The booths are the direct campaign destinations of the province, showing the rich natural resources and landmarks of each town or city and each local government's projects on tourism and agricultural productivity.

    Each booth shows tourism spots through photo exhibits or miniature displays, welcoming everyone to explore the scenic views in each place. Agriculture products and souvenir items too are displayed, most for sale. Photo and graphic exhibits reflect each town or city's cultural tradition.

    Buglasan Festival is provincial fiesta, agri-tourism fair, and "festival of festivals" rolled into one, featuring cultural events like dances and songs and sports competitions particularly the rodeo. Rodeo enthusiasts from many provinces in the country never miss the event.

    The festival is a 12-day celebration beginning every third Friday of October.”

    My son got a chance to meet the President when she was here. I did not know she was as short as she is.:D

    I had wished somebody will post photos of the Buglasan festival,and here they are now for us to see.Great pictures Rev Robinson ,many thanks .I would like to visit in time for this festival but not possible due to other conflicting commitments this time and on .
