what about sauerkraut? looked at the relish too, nice perhaps anyone knows where to get sauerkraut? im currently storing some homemade already for a month but it smells - uh rather - sauer!! :D and i hate to be disappointed when eating it with bratwurst or home made wienerschnitzel. :p
Wiener Schnitzel with Sauerkraut ... that's a pretty unique dish, well I am getting old and are not into fusion-cuisine. ... but I think I saw canned Sauerkraut in the yesterday reopened Casablanca Deli 150Peso/kg-can ??? (don't nail me on that price)
Why not open a INTERNATIONAL MARKET in Dumaguete. Specialising in the following.... Sauerkraut, Relish, Honey Mustard, Red beats, Mussels, Oysters, French Liver Pat'e, beer from Europe, USA and Australia, California Wine, French wine, Booze from the whole world, Fil'e Mignon from Brazil, USDA Steaks and of course all the lovely spiceies not to be found in Phil.... and as the store grows import more products.....upon request. This is of course not for profit..... Member ship only..... Price doesn't matter as long as it is available in Dumaguete......Minimum P20.000/ month / member. Some good old wine costs P10.000. WHERE IS THE MONEY? LET'S PARTY! Merry Christmas! Cheers, Ron Today in the Joking Mooood!
My wife went to HyperMart in Dumaguete and purchased 3 Jars of Krafts Green Relish and 3 jars of Housemore Creamy Horse Redish (the not so hot one). My wife is telling me that Robinson's SuperMarket is a big disappointment to her. Many products not available. Most coffee is Nes Cafe. The meet department looks like 90% Fat Department...she says it is ugly and all meet is in the open for people to sneeze over. No sanitation and no plastic gloves. Hypermart, according to her has improved over the last year and now have many more imported products. More foreigners at Hypermart than any other market in Dumaguete. We are from California and the Super Markets there, no doubts...best in the world. The vegetable department and meat department is like looking at a painting of Van Gough. We are picky about food and wine..... California did it to us..... Hard to downgrade.... but we can and will get used to it. We are not restaurant people anymore. Once in a while....YES, but it better be the best food there is. One more thing...My wife told me about MKKS across from City Hardware...mostly imported meet. She buy great Fil'e Mignon there from Brazil and Australia. Small store but good. Try HyperMart and MKKS, you may like it! Cheers, Ron I'll be home for Christmas...
Ron, I concur with you on MKKS. For those that haven't been there, it has a white sign with Food Industries on it. There products are fresh frozen including the beef Ron mentioned plus occasionally they get Rib Eye steak in, I buy their Norwegian Salmon, you can eat it as sashimi or grilled filets. Many other products to choose from.
Since the opening of Robinson's supermarket 13 months ago, the situation went from bad to worse. Hypermart on the other hand has only improved since than (it was necesary also) Only a pitty that hypermart don't open one hour earlier.
