Give the man the benefit of the doubt. Nobody goes out to the middle of the sea, unless he has a problem. I have seen him at McDonalds and he never caused any problems. When you see him say hello, maybe he just needs a friend. Whom knows what problems he has, so don't prejudge him. There but for the grace of God go I.

He is one lucky guy to have been found and rescued by the ferry as the tides are quite strong out there! Have also seen this guy around the place.

Let's clear up one thing. This guy does not drink! And, it has been said he has disdain for those who do drink. He is a regular at McDonalds and enjoys talking politics with the early gang who meets there. How he got there and what is was trying to do is not known. If you read between the lines you may have some idea what was going on in his life. But you don't know the whole story! He is one lucky guy to have been saved. He was holding on to a piece of drift wood when he was being saved so it would appear he was trying NOT to drown.

Maybe the dude just went for a swim. I know a guy who has been planning to swim from Negros to Cebu island at the closest point between the two islands. He has made some other long swims. During one of his swims he got caught in a current and had a hard time getting to land. He said he made contact with a boat once and they were asking him what he was doing.
Dude just going for a swim and going through the embarrassment of having to get rescued is probably a more likely story than some crazy conspiracy.-
