With my limited budget I can't go to all the places I would like to frequently. But once in a while we go to the "foreigner" places or upper-class Restaurants in Dumaguete.

I love Sushi and tried already in several places during the last years in Dumaguete. There is one place at the Boulevard (I will not name but it sounds Japanese) The Sushi there is not eatable. :( It was terrible to be honest. I had in El Camino also some Sushi one friday night with my co-workers and it was quite tasty. That can be a bit influenced from the drinks and the great time we had. I tried other restaurants and none of the places did hit my sushi-expectations.

Last week my small girly-gang decided to start the evening in Casablanca. I did not know that they have a Sushi-Bar. I was at this place only once and that is a while ago.

The Sushi Bar is neat and it was a perfect place for 3 girls. After ordering the cook started preparing our Sushi Mix and the California Roll just in front of us. I saw that before in a Restaurant in Cebu and I love to watch pros preparing food. All looked very fresh and the taste was just great. From my limited experience is no other location in Dumaguete which can compare with that.

The price was not higher than anywhere else.
I also looked at the regular menu and think it is not more expensive than other places in Dumaguete. I will surrender with the Black Angus, that's out of my budget... or maybe one of the members invites me... jokejokejoke:D

It was a real great start for our girls-night. I was also surprised that most of the guests were Pinoys. I am sure we will be back someday in the future if budget permits.

Summary: Sushi in Dumaguete --> Casablanca

Nice, I was wondering where I could safely eat Sushi here. Yes, I said safely, nevermind good taste. I just want to be able to get out of bed the next day on my own power (somehwere around noonish if there were a lot of SMB's the night before.) If I can get both safety and good taste, then I'm there!

Uh huh, I know how this works. A date with a Filipina means a date with her three friends also. :P

I haven't tried the Suhi there as I am absolutely not into that stuff. I buy my bread there. Before discovering Casablanca I ordered with Peter the breadman. But he turned out to be totally unreliable.
The highlight was when he delivered 50 french-bread the day AFTER the Party and did not understand that we won't take them and he can stick them where the sun does not shine...
We ordered a week in advanced and called to remind him again 2 day before the celebration.

I haven't tried the sushi bar, but Casablanca is like my dining room when I am in town, we have stopped asking each other where to eat, now it's just when we meet there

Thanks for the info. I can't wait to visit Duma in June. I'll check out those sashimi places. I've been to Casablanca once and ordered a tuna dish...it came as a big slab, seared to perfection. I'll try their sashimi then.
