I planned to do a short trip through Valencia and get some basic pictures for the places mentioned on the main site that didn't have any. I thought Casaroro falls would fall into the "quick trip" category.......I was very wrong. The path down to the falls (355 steps) was alright going down. Once at the bottom the path was completely demolished due to some past event (typhoon/earthquake/flood/all of the above) and it seemed like a good kilometer of climbing slippery bounders/crossing the stream to get to the falls.

My biggest mistake was not packing any water. I was dying of thirst by the time I got to the falls. My gf told me it was ok to drink the water from the falls......any survival training I have had in the past said that was a very stupid idea. I decided that it would be better to deal dysentery later than to collapse from dehydration in that valley, so I drank the water. Funny enough my gf refused to drink the water when offered......thanks battle buddy! Hopefully I won't regret that later.

This would not be a trip I would recommend for someone not in decent shape. I barely, and I mean barely, made it back up to the top.

I will post a couple pictures here and then add the entire album to the Photo Board forum once I have them all uploaded to an image bank and can easily link them.

If there is anywhere here that would give you a heart attack,it's those 350 steps in 30deg heat and 100% humidity!
I took a mate there a couple weeks ago,I declined his offer to join him  just stayed at the top and chatted with the ate with the water, the water used to be p15 but now p25. After those steps I would pay p100 for it  wish they would fix the path at the bottom.

If they fixed the path then it would be similar to other heavily visited falls in the area (and they would probably throw extremely loud music/karaoke at the base). If I had been prepared it wouldn't have been all that bad. Before I got half way down those steps I realized that it was going to really suck getting back up. It was worth it, though I doubt I will do it again.

Before sendong there used to be a nice raised path and bridge leading to the viewing deck,I never really saw it that busy. Looking through the visitors book I was surprised how many people go there every day!
