    Lowest Stress

This forum has a lot of good info thanks everyone!

I will be meeting my fiance in Dumaguete in September and we will then travel together to Cebu. What would be the LEAST stressful way to get there? Price is the least of my concerns. Safety, and hanging onto the luggage is top priority. The busses sound horrible, the v-hires too. Is the Ferry the way to go? Do you have to worry about the luggage there too?

    Thanks in advance!

Of course the fast ferry is the most comfortable one ('the least stressful' as you describe it). It has the shortest waiting time.
Your heavy/big luggage will be put at a certain area together with all the other luggage. Best is to go there before they start disembarking so you can keep an eye on it. But it's quite safe, don't be scared. They issue identification strips. Good luck in September with you fiancee.
    Btw: Welcome on this forum.
Hopefully you will have a good time together Mr. Hopeful

Thanks Jellyfish and wiNkz for the responses.

The fast ferry seems to best option I think. This will be our first meeting face to face so we want things to go smoothly and get things off on the right foot!

Ms fiancee and I are both pretty excited!

    Thanks again!

.. there are lots of routes going to dumaguete. and the least stressful is hire a taxi from mactan airport, i think it will cost you P3,100.oo going to Liloan, Santander. and from there take the fastcraft (it will take you only about 30min)... OR since price is the least of your concerns, why not take an airplane to manila and from there take a plane to dumaguete?

    Thanks hanna.

Well its true I said it was the least of my concerns but it still a concern. If I ddin't see the wink at the end of your post I wouldn'y have known you were probably kidding me haha. I could just hire my owm pilot and buy a plane too.

    Thanks for the tip

i took the direct bus from cebu to dumaguete when i went there.....it wasnt really stressful thou' but i wasnt expecting it to be more than 3 hours...so it was stressful to me .......i left cebu 1pm i arrived dumaguete around 6pm.... i cudnt sleep at the bus coz i was excited and the road was a lil bumpy and zigzag......and i kept looking at my watch...... i took a different route back to cebu......the fastcraft or "ferry" as u may say.....and from liloan took the ceres bus to cebu.....this time i kinda enjoyed the trip.... i really enjoyed watching the cool and serene waters and wondered what it would felt like diving or swimming there... that's what i missed...especially after i watched kate hudson's FOOL'S GOLD yesterday, i really missed duma..... despite the experiences i had in duma i would still love to go back there again........ a friend said, my friends and I haven't seen much of duma that's why we had said what we had felt that way........

depends on what bus, what ferry, traffic and driver. figure 3-5 hours, I never did it in 3 hours. 3.5 best for me. leave early to cover contingencies. I always leave Sibulan first or second trip 5:30- 6:00AM. coming back, keave Cebu no later than 1 PM yo make sure you intercept ferries in daylight.
Take the fast craft from Sibulan to Liloan it docks at a different terminal with a bus usually waiting to take passengers to cebu, often an aircon bus. fewer delays.

Generally, with a few exceptions figure 2.5 to 3.5 hours from Liloan to Cebu south bus terminal. It varies quite a bit by driver and traffic. The fare on the fastcraft Sibulan/Liloand P47, AC bus Liloan/Cebu is P149. (each)
