    You should note that it is illegal for a foreigner to even ask for the senior citizen discount and you "could" even be deported for it. I have also taken the bus many times and it is not as bad as some make it out to be.

    Do bear in mind when flying from Cebu to Dumaguete by Cebu Pacific your check in luggage is limited to 20 kg only, overweight( which is being charged normally) not allowed as CP operates this flight with an ATR72 machine.

    Excess weight, not that much if you pay when you book on-line. Regarding taking the ferry watch out for the porters whom will want a nice big tip, and the trike drivers will rip you off. Have a safe trip.

    I think he was considering flying or going by boat.

    Cebu Pacific has a flight on the 9th for 1.2k. The overnight ferry costs around 1k and takes 6-7 hours. If I remember correctly the fast craft (Cebu-Bohol-Dumaguete) costs around 1.2k for a one way and takes around 2-3 hours.
