Infectious disease experts have warned of a potential biohazard, literally in our backyards.

CSIRO research director for Health and Biosecurity Paul De Barro said there was a growing risk your humble chicken, pig or goat could contract a zoonotic disease, which can be deadly to humans.

"i just said that all the chickens and pigs died within a day of each other".

no, you didn't say that, perhaps you dreamed it in your delusional state.

from your attitude, i would now have to conclude they committed suicide. maybe you should try it too, and make the world a better place!

You can be sure that even without knowing if they are diseased that they are still sold as meat. That's the scary part.

Recently in my neck of the woods (Amlan), most of the chickens both native and introduced all up and died, and the pigs too (double dead, beware).
Just died, all of them, its not the 1st time its happened, it has happened several times before, no warning they just check out, have asked the wife several times, if anyone has any idea and she just shrugs her shoulders, the local LGU couldnt give a fuxx, thought the least they would do is take a sample of a liver or two or a few lungs, bit of blood, send it off and get some idea of the culprit, what ever it is surely it will mutate and jump (or the locals are immune without knowing it).

    WTF

    Not for fighting,
I raise them for meat, native eggs(the 6 eggs for 1 person omelet haha) and for pests control,
we rented a land kinda in the mountain with no adjacent neighbor so we had no complaint at all.
I guess you will require a permit if you want to sell them, but for us, it was for our own consumption and to give some to fiesta from our 'far' neighbors  .

It happened to our chickens about 2 years ago, up above Valencia. I think a virus spread by the native chickens. They didn't seem so much affected.
