How was it an epic fail? They lowered the birth rate from 2.8 in 1979 to 1.5 in 2010 and the policy was supported by a large portion of the population. The West complains about human rights but it was the West that was complaining about the dangers of Chinese overpopulation. So the West complains if they reproduce too much but then they complain when don't reproduce enough.....I think the West should just STFU about how much the Chinese are doing it.
