    Hi,

Does anyone know the price charged for getting a pilot's license in Dgte? I saw the sign over near the airport at one time and noticed smaller planes. My friend is interested in maybe going to the PHL if the license is cheap enough and lessons plus if the license will transfer to the States. Please provide any info or contact info that you can.

    THANKS!

You can learn to fly here but, figure on re-certifying in the U.S.( not sure exactly what they would require, at least a medical and check flight) Lessons here are available. In dumaguete they have a cadet training program with little time for recreational pilots, They are trianing young commercial pilots. that may have changed, it has been a year since I inquired. The same company does have Civilian recreational pilot training available in Cebu, and they might even arrange for an instructor to ferry over to Dmgte. It is not ultra cheap.

Ultralite instruction costs 3,000 - 3500 P per hour, (you get a recreational pilot certificate).
The following is what the Angeles ultralight club charges members for rental and instruction in a variety of small ultralight aircraft.

    MEMBER AIRCRAFT HIRE RATES
ALL PRICES QUOTED ARE IN PESOS AND IS WET HIRE (INC. GAS)
TYPE SOLO PER HOUR DUAL PER HR (TRAINING FLIGHTS)
    INCLUDES INSTRUCTOR FEES

QUICKSILVER MXL II Sport (Primary Trainer) P2,350.00 +P200hr DF P3, 200.00 +P200hr DF
    DRIFTER w 503 engine P2,500.00 +P200hr DF P3,300.00 +P200hr DF
    RANS S-12, CGS Hawk P2,650.00 +P200hr DF P3,500.00 +P200hr DF
GT-400 (SINGLE SEAT) P1,800.00 +P200hr DF (DF = Dedicated Fund)

Kind of muddled together, but dual time with instructor costs 3300-3500 P per hour. total hour required, 30, 10 dual, and 10 solo minimum.

web site link:Angeles City FLying Club ==Provides Aircraft Rental, Flight Instruction, Hanger Space and Aircraft Maintenance for Members.

Full private liscense in "real" aircraft will be more expensive, and considerably more ground school. A private pilots liscense is 40 hours minimum.

That's all the info I have, hope it helps some.

Thanks RHB! I already copied the info and sent it to my friend. He may be interested in volunteering in Dgte if he can also get a cheaper rate for his pilot license.
