I have been here long enough to see what you are talking about but not really comment on it locally yet. However, "the customer is king" in the US means anticipating your needs. In Hong Kong I find it difficult to adjust to their grade-school adaptation of that rule. "The customer is king - as long as he Raises His Hand First". Maybe that is fallout from the days of ringing a bell for service, who knows.

Wife and I use to be regular diners there. We haven't been there in over 6 months.
Got tired of having to get up and hunt down staff to order meal, get a second drink, get bill, etc. But, they do provide you with a menu quickly - as soon as you sit. But, then, you the customer often has to do the leg work from that point on. The food and drinks are OK, though.

Because of the brownout we went to Coco Amigo's on Sunday night, i was not keen on going after what i had read here but it was the only place with lights still on that we could get a table without waiting.
The service was good and the food was also good, my wife had fish tinola and i had pepper steak, both faultless, the only thing i would warn anyone about regarding the steak is to get the pepper sauce separate as i did so you can add it yourself.
I say this because it was way too spicy for my taste and anyway i like steak to taste of steak and not the sauce.
It was a guy who waited on us and not one of the girls so i don't know if that made a difference to the service :thumbsup:

I never had good service there, thus, stopped going there after 3 visits. I would always have to go up to the desk and get my own menu, and then go back up and beg for someone to take our orders........you can just guess how the rest went........

    I don't know.
lol i just dont like to write bad reviews of any other business...maybe bc i woudnt like to read them from mine, but the true is....after reading this comments, i was just laugthing a lot. And i just want to add something....I have been there just some times...maybe three...and all of them was crap. Long waits to order the food, and more to pay it. Some times i was close to run away without paying it, i just did because it was jummy...
Whatever...the live music is nice...sometimes...specially when that group with the guy with shinning shoes, golden belt, rings and necklace is there lol

I am surprised to hear Coco Amigos have not improved their service over the years. We went there six years ago and never went back for the same ongoing issues. You would think that with a fairly decent hotel they would want their restaurant's reputation to be positive. Plenty of alternatives to choose from.

In all fairness, for over 10 year I have been there many many times, sometimes I had to walk out after sitting over an hour waiting for the waitress to put down her cell phone and gave up. other times I had good service with a smile, Food not the best but ok. I will give it another try, I hear the banana split is good at a good price.

I suppose I am different because that does not work for me. If I want to eat or drink something I will get up and walk to the girl at the bar, just inside the door, and say: Can I order blah blah or can I get my bill. I mean people who are hungry or thirsty and sit there waiting for the Philippines to change and then walk out still hungry or thirsty are only hurting themselves. You think the waitress or the management cares?
