BOGOTA (Reuters) - Colombia's government plans to carry out lie detector tests on senior civil servants who allocate contracts to private companies as it tries to clamp down on widespread corruption and embezzlement of public funds. Read more here... It should be extended to politicians as well. Of course, the people giving the tests could be bribed to give a favorable interpretation of the results. Could you imagine if they did the same in the Philippines? lol Nothing would get done.
Hahaha. A lie detector would never work here. On the TV shows the technician always asks a few questions to set a base line for truthful answers. Many politicians here could not tell the truth if their lives depended on it. Besides once an story has been repeated 3 times, it becomes the truth. Sorry folks the test was inconclusive because we could not calibrate the machine.
Good for the Colombians I hope the process amounts to some good there. I agree about the Philippines. Try that there and it would be complete gridlock in all levels with hordes of politicians wheel chaired out of hearing rooms with some level of drama...high blood, "diabetic coma", sudden amnesia, etc. hahahaha...
It is strange how suddenly they all become sick and end up with some sort of life threatening ailment once they try to charge them with something!
