    Hi members,
Nothing special to tell, I am glad to find a more local forum, nearby the places I am interested in. As I tell it in General, I am 2 months a year living in Bacong and 10 working in The Netherlands, I do not know yet when it will be "baliktad", the other way around.
Hope to give and get information here.
    Columbo

It is not a question of like, it's the place where you are born and grew up. In general, there are nicer and also more bad places to live. Only nowdays life is getting worse in The Netherlands in my opinion, so it should be time to leave. Only, work (money) keeps me there for a while. Not that PH is the best place, I lived in better places, but to me it is a very good alternative, specially now my wife is from there which makes the choice final for future.

Sorry to hear it. I know there's some unrest there, but what else is making it go downhill?

Sorry for me not needed, not meant if it creates a depressive situation, I find my way, but The Netherlands is getting too crowded and the burocracy has raised to an enormous level. Rules, rules, rules. Besides, the Europe Union makes more rules, now we are facing fines because we cannot reach pollution-reduction. Of course we can't, we live around 450 people on a sq. km. See France (same size Texas), you cannot compare New York City to the state of Texas in my view, but same pollution rules. And we are paying the most money per head to EU. What can you do with 31 seats of 732 in parliament?
Another thing, they do not even have a word for it in English we call it "gedogen", which in the dictionary is called "to tolerate", but it is not the same, the Dutch word means you make a law and you general accept when someone not follows that law. Good example, drugsdealing is illegal but the selling shops are accepted, you can use drugs in there also. Latest joke: Smoking in bars will be forbidden soon, but they will make an excemption for drug-bars (here called Coffee-shops, where they sell no coffee but drugs). And that's not the only crime we tolerate. This country is becoming crazy. Anyway, much to tell more, ask me by mail if you are interested (forum is PH info), better than stand-up comedy if it was not so serious.

    Good old Holland

So right with your info about the place called The Netherlands. Would only like to add that (in several area's) the foreighers do outnumber the original Dutch. Part of the so-called liberal view on immigrants. Result: several millions of immigrants, not even trying to work or make a living, depending on the social welfare, main source of criminality, drugs dealing and the like.
Add therewith the heavy burden of taxes, rules and regulations ( for which about each rule has its commitee to work it) the " tolerance" as you so well noted, and one knows why (as per todays statistics) most of the original Dutch do consider migration. Being a Dutch myselves, i'm not proud of my country, Another good example : A thief breaks into your house>>PLS do NOT tough him/here. Better offer a cup of coffee and show him/her the way around. If only, you get highblooded and HIT the person, be rest assured you will be charged in a court of law. Shoplifters get the same kind of attention !! Anybody ANY questions WHY we migrated ???
Welcome on board Columbo. Hope you will be soon a permanent resident of Bacong. BIERTJE ?????

Earlmj >> Saying it ALL will require writing a book. Had my (import) business there, with showroom. Think this is not the place to discuss The Netherlands but surely agree with you. One who had a little money and a big backbone, should move. On the other hand, Philippines is not heaven, especialy for the newbie's here. It's again a matter of choices and let's be happy that WE are in the position to MAKE choices.

The philippines is to be prefered over the Netherlands if you have a stable income of about 750 dollars a month. Then you can do about the same as in the Netherlands with 2500 Euro a month only you live in a bigger house with a bigger lot but with lower taxes and other bullsh.
