So you mean they only code for the spike protein? They have no other genetic material? But how can they force a cell to make new viruses with the 'wrong' spike protein if they don't have the code to make the rest of the virus particle? I admit they did not have mRNA vaccines in my time of study so I need to check this out more - if the mRNA in the vaccine codes for a virus particle (virion) then it must possess more than a code for spike protein. Also, there is a group of particles called viriods that are, in fact, just RNA (with no protein coat) and are the smallest known pathogens - they do seem, currently, to infect only some plants and do not cause any direct major human health issues, but it is possible that the Hepatitis Delta Virus may have evolved from a viriod.

#NewsBite: Here's the latest breakdown of the active COVID-19 cases in Negros Oriental as of today, December 31, 2020.
The province recorded 29 new cases, bringing the total number of active cases to 146. Dumaguete City remains as Negros Oriental's COVID-19 epicenter with 79 active cases either being treated or quarantined.

The City’s Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases discloses that there are now 49 active cases following the confirmation of 5 new COVID-19 cases and 3 recoveries Tuesday evening.
Three of the 5 new COVID-19 cases are hospital workers who may have earlier been exposed to COVID-19 patients.
City Health Officer Dr. Maria Sarah B. Talla informed Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo, Chairperson of the City’s IATF-MEID, that there are 49 active cases, 104 recoveries and 10 deaths since the COVID-19 pandemic affected the City from January 30, 2020 to the present December 22, 2020.
Meanwhile, 7 known close contacts of COVID cases have been quarantined as Persons Under Monitoring (PUMs) by the City Health Workers.
Aside from the 7 known close contacts COVID-19 cases, 30 other PUMS begin their strict and mandatory 14-day quarantine in the designated isolation facilities today.
In contrast, 27 PUMs were released today after they completed the mandatory 14-day quarantine in the different isolation facilities without showing any signs and symptoms of Influenza Like Illness or ILI.
The 37 new PUMs are: 7 known close contacts of COVID-19 cases in Poblacion 1 and Poblacion 2 and 30 Locally Stranded Individuals from Ilo-ilo City, Dapitan, Cebu City, Manila, Leyte and Cavite.
Of the 495 PUMS: 249 are in designated hotel facilities; 62 are in the community isolation center and 184 are in the barangay isolation facilities.
None of the 495 PUMs seen and examined by the City Health workers manifested ILI symptoms while under quarantine.

BREAKING: Negros Oriental has 14 new COVID-19 infections and one new death, provincial IATF ground commander Dr. Liland Estacion said in a press briefing this afternoon (Dec. 8, 2020).
Among the new cases are a seven-month-old baby boy from Dumaguete City and an eight-year-old boy from Sibulan town, all local transmissions.
Most of the new cases were recorded in Dumaguete City, where there are nine. Sibulan has three new cases, while Dauin and Tayasan towns have one each.
One new death was also recorded: Patient 650, an 81-year-old female from Valencia town, who had comorbidities.
Estacion also reported 12 new recoveries, all from Dumaguete City.

JUST IN: Bais City has six new COVID-19 infections, its incident command system (ICS) said in a Facebook post this afternoon.
Among the new cases are the husband of the city's Patient 21, his two grandsons, and two sons. One of the sons attended a birthday party, boodle fight, and drinking session with friends on Nov. 28, 2020.
Another case is an executive assistant of the Bais City government, 57-year-old Leo Borromeo. His name was publicly disclosed with his consent to help with contact tracing efforts. #NewsBite
