Yes Jim I agree, Today, we had a Local lad come and Chop down a Rotten Coconut tree that was supporting a few rats nests, if you can use a Local, any local, You are less likely to be a target for crime, That only leaves the opportunists and well........... what can I sayWho knows (dave (1).jpg what can I or any of us say? :cigar:

My wife finds work for the locals on our property, cutting down coconuts, cutting bamboo, cutting the grass etc.
    Saves me doing it

Well, as soon as we started to have curfew, I noticed locals increasing the height of their fences in Valencia/Liptong.

You should not ask for advice here , but think for yourself. Does a poor man with even less get more desperate or not?

I am not sure we can generalise - some men (and women) will go to desperate lengths, in all countries, to gain the possessions of others (including food), even to gain things they don't desperately need, but there are some with such high moral standards they will not steal or kill. Desperation may cause some to eat garbage or unpalatable foods they collect locally - but not all will commit heinous crimes.

We should Remember that we are in "Fiesta" Time in many parts of Negros and this has always resulted in an upsurge in opportunist theft to that of the real Norm, lets not be fooled with blaming it just on Covid, this week it is Talay, lets see what is reported, Last week it was Valencia. No bad news I think There, No increase was reported in Bacong recently so to my Mind there seems to be no upsurge in Theft due to Covid
