Sir, please explain what it is that you find wrong in the act you are referring to. The act is written to protect women and children from violence and abuse. Great Act! We no longer live in a society run by men only, and the law was written by both men and women.
No human being have the right whatsoever to make a person live in fear under abuse and violence. The person who commits those crimes belong in a jail/prison and if foreigner deportation.

    Fair Lady!

What is wrong is that the law can be manipulated with false accusation by unscrupulous women (yes, there are some). Perhaps you don't want to believe that some husbands also get battered by violent wives too.

To make an arrest solely on the basis of an allegation is an upside-down way of applying the law, and this can be invoked and misused by some vindictive women, particularly if the intention, and prize at the end, is a foreigners property into which the whole family can move.

Allegation, investigation, arrest if justified should be the chronological order of events.

I have to agree with Broadside. Sure there are a number of scum foreigners here preying on Filipina's but the majority are decent guys and caring. But with this law it has so many very big holes all it takes is false allegations against the male and he is automatically wrong and guilty. Its easy for a woman to say he was emotionally abusive, or after they seperated "withdrew financial support", or say he was screwing other women, or threatening her with financial issues or her family. She doesn't need any proof on the charges and even sometimes to make them stick. If she can get a few "friends" or family members to say crap for a cut no proof is needed. As a foreigner he is automatically guilty, has to post a huge bail, has to hire a lawyer, and likely gets stuck having to pay for her lawyer against him.

As the law is written you could go to a bar and have a 1 night stand with a woman and she could then accuse you of all sorts of stuff and basically the proof is that you had sex even being consentual and you didn't harm her.

The law is written as basically an anti foreigner law under the guise of protecting women and children. Yet my ex did many of these sames things to me and I have a neighbor who has an even more pyscho ex yet there is no law that helps protect us males / foreigners from the bad filipina's we may have gotten stuck with.

This law should be required reading before being allowed to enter the Philippines. lets call it the Herman Cain Law. "I have no evidence of this.....but"

In a land where the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court is on trial for corruption (and will probably be found not guilty by the former president's judges), what do you expect. I agree with tomtorific, "Buyer Beware".

Sir, Sorry to hear that you met a bad female, and of course you are MR. Perfect. Often when foreigners live in Philippines they make 3 misstakes, and they are as follows; Meet with girls who are very young, Girls in general comes from poor families and often also uneducated. The consequences of those 3 factors can have bad a very bad ending. So to all of you guys out there looking for a LIFEPARTNER take your time and use your UPPER HEAD instead of xxxxx. If you meet someone, please get to know eachother and after 2 or 3 years start talk about a marriage if that is what you want. If you come here to have sex, please move to Angels City or Manila, both places are big whorehouses. The best you can do for Philippines is to move to Thailand, we don't need or want you here.

The former presidents judges are not the Juror in the Corona case.....The JURORS are the SENATORS. Get it right before you speak. The reason why the former President gave Corona the position as Chief Justice during a midnight appointment, was that she needed someone to protect her, being well aware of all the criminal acts she commited in the Philippines. Arroyo and Corona can hold hands in jail and continue their midnight appointment. They deserve eachother.

I would call it DAY DREAMING... you should go out and look at many of countrywomen here in Dumaguete, cause you are so far from real life like the helmet law from being implemented.
