So much for donations and goverment care. Sun Star Tuesday, September 9, 2014 MANILA -- State auditors have discovered that more than P736 million in cash donations for victims of Typhoon Yolanda in Eastern Visayas have remained unutilized and deposited in the bank accounts of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD). The December 2013 report by the Commission on Audit (COA) also noted millions of pesos worth of relief goods for victims that purportedly became spoiled. “Cash donations as of December 31, 2013 amounting to P736,297,751.52 which were received for Yolanda victims, in addition to prior years’ donations of P45,714,339.19 or a total amount of P782,012,090.71 remained unutilized and deposited in DSWD bank accounts,” the report said.
now here is a Surprise NOT! I like your post Mokum but not the fact of what is happening. Maybe now they can pay all the Old age Pensioners their allowances dating back to march of this Year, Odd how my mother -in-law was told she will not get anything Until January, 1/4 1 of the new year. It is DSWD that pays this and they have admitted, they are over Budget, Now we see this news, Hmmmmmmmm I wonder where Yolanda's money will end up. OK, in the pockets of OAP's but that is not where it was destined. The goods I saw illegally, in a Ukay Ukay Store were certainly not Spoiled, Some one is telling big Porkies I think! Beggars belief Again JP
And still my young friend, her husband and sick Baby are living in a leaking Tent in Leyte that is starting to fall apart, she states it is as if the Government has forgotten that they even exist anymore, so many People STILL DESPERATELY NEED HELP! :( I am speechless!
Nothing deadens the pain for me, when I see so many many people in such poverty with no way out. Get to a major city such as Manila Metro, it's mind boggling.
