I think everyone is too scared to help the injured here in the rp, I have heard many a story of people who have stopped to try and help or taken the injured to hospital are charged by the hospital for the treatment or have been accused of causing the accident! A couple of weeks ago was driving home from dauin after dark, I never saw a guy laid in the road until the locals started shouting, luckily I had the windows down so I heard them and took avoiding action, it did make me wonder why they were all stood around on the side of the road just looking at him instead of trying to help or get him out of the road, there is now a small cross and flowers where he died. It really is a bad situation when you dare not stop to help some one who is injured in fear of being accused or charging for his/her treatment at hospital :( I will never forget the one I saw in zambongita last year, I felt guilty for not helping for some time!
shouldnt be the question to ask ourselves is, what is the right thing to do? to just drive pass when we can always give a hand to these people, a couple minutes can save a life. i know what you meant though, been down that road of trying to help yet i got myself in trouble but if i encounter the same thing, i might do it again if i see that its the right thing to do. I just cant drive passed and asking myself later on WHAT IF i gave those poor people a hand but yes, you have to deal with the consequences later thus u have to take appropriate actions before u do anything. think smart maybe. leave contact details, take photos of the accident and numbers of the witnesses just incase. i guess its just me. just my opinion.
The only contact information I would leave is the name and number of a person I really hate. Let them get the shakedown. When you them to the hospital tell the nurse you need to go to the CR and leave ASAP. Nothing more you can do from that point besides find your wallet getting lighter.
That is YouTube's URL shortening... It's a Legit YouTube link. Would not recommend anyone watching it though...
In the U.S. if nothing else, this would probably hit the owner of the vehicle with a huge increase in auto insurance premiums.
And a hefty lawsuit or two. One word - negligence. The driver would be brought up for manslaughter too. His help with sobriety would be the long jail sentence.
Am sorry for the driver of the truck also, I am sure he did not awaken on that morning and plan this terrible accident. what if inside the cab was a purchased bottle of tanduay as yet unopened this would give all those attending the wrong impression when smashed all over the cab and drivers clothes ? He maybe would fight in frustration with the blame from whoever.. Sad
So the real fact is the truck driver drives recklessly passing when he shouldn't - like so many other local drivers.. no driver's edu/no law enforcement = highway Russian roulette
