There is this acquaintance who moved to our municipality in October of 2018 from Valencia, Negros Oriental who passed away in a hospital in Bacolod, Negros Occidental on December 24, 2018. His name is Kent "George" Staples. He was admitted to the Adventist Medical Center (Bacolod) in late November and after surgery to remove a tumor in his colon was diagnosed with stage four colon cancer at that time. His wife, Lyn was constantly by Kent's side until his passing. He acquired a sizable hospital bill and since he was unable to pay the debt was held at the hospital until his ultimate demise. I thought that was criminal as Kent's only wish after the surgery was to return to her family's home to spend his last days with them. By making him stay only made the debt worse. His only source of income was from his Social Security pension and had debts to the hospital of 186,000 pesos. A GoFundMe account has been set up to help pay for the cost of the hospital bill. Since they had only been married one year, Lyn did not meet the requirements for survivor benefits. I don't know if he was a member of this forum, but if any member could find it in their heart to contribute to his FGM account, it would be greatly appreciated. https://www.gofundme.com/help-for-m...Z9Ta9U3JZYh9ZH_IwDR63xb0oydwiJlgHjO7-tN929JXY Thank you.
