My wife is putting on two hour school classes for my boy and his 9 first cousins, ages 4 to 14. Reminds me of the old days with one small school house and one teacher for all the grades. Her second day doing it, kids enjoying it.

But when thinking about how to home school I figured out I could cover the curriculum in a very small amount per day - recently I heard some people on TV discussing home schooling and they do 2.5 hours per day as they worked out that is the actual amount of teaching performed in a school if the time wasted is removed!-

Check out Khan Academy for FREE online curriculum. It has a very good reputation. Your wife can use it for ideas and the older children can study online directly for free.
It is mostly math and science based which is good considering how poorly math and science is taught here in the Philippines. Social studies can be learned from reading which will also improve reading comprehension.-

I have a problem with this one because.... A. It will be a while before we know we have a good vaccine ...... B. What happens if the Philippines accepts, in a hurry, a sub standard vaccine and puts the kids back in school ......... and C. How long are they prepared to keeps the kids out of school? They are all bad scenarios but that last one is a terrible prospect for the future of the Philippines.
