    Okay, maybe simple mind does not want to socialize with the locals, seems like you don't want to also. Waly problemo pero nako. I drink with locals and foreigners. Each to their own. :dnr:

    I always get along very well with locals weather drinking with them or not. I often head out on a walk and find myself invited to have a shot at the beach or someones home. I have found, all I do by nature is treat them with respect and a few words in their language, wala always a good time for all.

    That being said, I also know when to leave weather it's a local or a foreigner.

    I never said I don't socialize with locals. I'm just not going to stop and have a drink with every drunkard on the side of the road on the way to hang out with the locals I have a plan to meet with. If someone yells my name I will stop....it just so happens my name is not Joe or Kano. I find people who use those two terms as ignorant, inconsiderate and racist. I don't go around calling them Gooks, Flips or Asian Wetbacks. (BTW: I find the word "Kano" just as derogatory and ignorant as any other word used for other races)

    Im hearing ya I hate the joe call even more because I am aussie , Wrye anyone that reads your posts would or should realise that you are an intelligent individual , smarter than most , but where you are treading is close to the bone , for those of us that mainly live, eat, and sh*t with the locals , and speak their language with them , maybe we just took the undertones of it to personally , lets just move on . regards Tony

    Wow, I've heard people immerse themselves in the local culture....but I didn't know some went this far with it. Since you seem to know, how is it most of them clean up down there when they are finished? Wait, don't answer that. I might never eat out again.
