⌛ Domestic airfares

Just out of curiosity i was checking airfares between Dumaguete and Manila.
Random choosen departure July 15 and return september 15.
Price with Cebu Pacific (incl 15 kg luggage) 2,692 pesos (incl. 1 promofare)
Price with Philippines (incl 15 kg luggage) 2,593 (no promofare)
Cebu Pacific calls flights without luggage Go light fare and for Philippines econolight is the cheapest fare available with 15 kg luggage so you might be confused by this.
Conclusion:Cebu Pacific promofares are the same as Philippines econolightfares available all year round.(restrictions apply)

 

I think you are confused also! Pal with 15kg/20kg is called economy fiesta fare. Econolight is with 7kg carry on only and you can get an internet price as low as 1150p(one-way) depending on the day you choose to fly. Checked luggage in pal is 20kg unless you are flying on a W or U class ticket then it is only 15kg So when you buy your ticket check the class. Pals turboprop aircraft is only 15kg except to caticlan(boracay) @10kgs

 

When i click on the econolight logo from Philippines i read:
Carry-on luggage : 15 lbs (7 kg)
Baggage weight : 33 lbs (15 kg)
So i think that an econolightfare from Philippines allows you to bring a checked luggage

since I will also be flying to Dumaguete on July 12 i am checking the fares but unfortunately found out that you can not reserve online unless you have a credit card. that is why i will be letting my auntie do this however I did not want to bother her. my question is which airline is better in service? PAL or cebu pacific? maybe no difference. and If my auntie buys me an e-ticket from Dumaguete for the supposed date should i claim it a few days earlier when i arrive in manila(because we intend to stay in manila for 2 days before our connecting flight to Dumaguete)or can i claim my ticket some hours earlier before our flight?

 

There is not much difference in service between the two airlines i guess, but for a flight of only one hour that is not so important also.
If somebody else is buying an e-ticket for you, just let the airline sent the ticket by e-mail directly to your mailbox.
Than you just have to print it for entering the airport.
Normaly a valid foto-id should be enough for the airline to give you your boardingpass, that's the way it works all over the world but in the philippines the check-in clerk will
also ask for a printed ticket.

 

check again econolight as in the name LIGHT means carry on! Checked luggage is economy fiesta fare

 

Make sure you have a letter of authourization,copy of drivers licence and copy of credit card! Depending on the agent sometimes if the credit card holder is not present and or also flying they will not let you board without these documents

I have checked again, econolight is 15 kg checked luggage and economy Fiesta is 20 kg checked luggage (so light means 5 kg less--15 compared to 20.)

telling you the correct baggage weight.
