    I don't know.
You say you buy 4 loaves at a time and freeze them, then you go on to say you had bread left out for two days and it went stale and mouldy, I think you are giving a bad impression to others about this Bakers adjacent to Octagon Bar (used to be called The French Baker it may now have changed its name?)I have been using them for over a year now and have never had a problem that I can think of? we buy three Loaves at a time which is about all we get in our small freezer, my Wife collects them and as soon as she arrives home she slices all three leaving just a quarter inch at the bottom of each loaf intact, when we need it we take it out the freezer and break off however many slices we need, 40mins thawing time or a quickie in the micro, (I'm not talking sex with the wife in the microwave, we did try it once but I was all spent in a fraction of a second) when it comes to bread we have zero waste in our house. I would Recommend this Baker to anyone, their wholemeal loaf is as good as any other I have had here, but don't ever expect a Loaf that sells in brown paper and not Plastic to have preservative in it, any good fresh Bread has to be eaten same day or be frozen like I do.

Seems like the longer I'm here, the less I miss. I don't miss a good bottle of wine any more. A 500p Aussie shiraz or cab is good enough. I've adjusted to the Thai food available here, I could care less about trying to get a good haircut here, I've settled for a few fish I'll eat here, I'm too old to ski or water ski, family in US not interested any more, and so on. However, the one thing I do miss is a good US steak.

Yes, that is certainly an alternative, and for the lazy ones among us, you don't even need to learn how to....
I have a pretty sophisticated bread machine that does everything automatically, just need to put in the ingredients.

The Baker at the front of Octagon sells a very good wheat Bread and I would suggest if you try this, you will no longer consider Gardenia as decent?

I don't know how long ago that extended stay was, but nowadays you can get decent bread here (not sweet).

The Ichipan and Gardenia wheat brands are decent.

Blairs Proper Foods makes bread/bagels which are very good. If my memory is correct they bake a small quantity M-T-Th F-Sat. Breads usually come out of the oven around 11:00 am.

They are located on the Dumaguete-Valencia road in one of the mini malls about a Km or two before Valencia, south side of the highway.

My older son lives in Austin and told me about the brisket and steak there. I liked Costco and Home Depot. In California we had In-n-Out Burger, the best. I would be happy for a Taco Bell here
