Driver's Licence Renewal

hmmmm if you were unlucky enough to have an accident here and only had your o/seas license and you were her longer than 3 months then you might be in for a shock, and as another poster said depends on what their duty is for the day

We are only checking Driver's License today" If you have that you are OK to go".. I did have it and I left with no problems.

Do you have to have a Philippine licence to drive there ? I have been scooting around for many years thinking my aussie license was ok , apologies for the ignorant question , but being set straight on this will be worth it

brian ausie next time you enter the phills, within the 90 days go get your licence it will be easier than going through the bs with testing etc, yes they check your entry date on your p/port

I am stupid.

Every day I carry my Philippine driver's license, except today. I went for a swim at Ocean's 24 and on the way back went past this very same place, Camanjac Elementary. The Dumaguete Police have a check stop there. They check my registration and title and then ask for my driver's license. As this thread says, I just renewed it and I have a piece of paper (at my house) to say I do not yet have the plastic card.

Not good enough. The oldest of the officers says I cannot drive my motorbike anywhere without a valid driver's license. His assistant officer starts to write me a ticket and tells me he must confiscate the bike. I ask if I can go home to get my driver's license and he says I cannot take the bike and they will not be there very long but if I get back in time with a valid license I can take my bike.

I was home and back, 2 km, in 15 minutes. A good healthy jog. A quick examination of the temporary license and I was on my way. Funny thing is they never asked why the registration was still in the name of the previous owner. I guess they don't care. Good thing as I could not find my Bill of Sale :-)

 

yea I am running around with the same piece of paper, I have been to Bacolod and thankfully was not stopped, just try and confiscate my car just wont happen O--O

 

3 weeks plus and still no plastic, sorry sir they are made in Manila hemmmmm

The driving permits are made in Dumaguete. The last time I renewed mine it took one day. Maybe you can get your asawa to go to the main branch and enquire. It sounds like you are being jerked around. You could ask for the persons name that is blaming Manila and take their picture with you phone "so the appropriate incharge can follow up on the problem". I took the name of an immovable object at BI in Intermuros and voila they started doing their job.

yes same for my 2014 car sticker they said one month then another month now try 3 months sir
