When I came to Dgte from Makati, I decided to buy a motorbike like most people do. However, in my case I had never had a motorcyle or motorbike before; Dgte is a hell of a place to learn. So I bought an automatic thinking it would be very easy to cruise around. I dumped the bike 3 times, all my fault with sand on or near the road my downfall 2 out of the 3. Nobody told me about using the right hand break accounted for the 3rd. Nasty scars and a limp.
My wife is pregnant now so no more motorbike, so bike sold.
If anyone coming here is inexperienced on a motorbike, I suggest they find a biker-experienced buddy to instruct them and get them started.

I thought I was experienced on a Motorbike, and yet I still crashed and Burned on a motorcycle that I had rented from Terry at Happy Fred's.. I think I may have showed You the Scar on My leg when I was there Pat. Needless to say, I haven't been on one since....

I remember you telling me that John. For me, funny thing is I was able to adjust to the craziness of the other drivers but when left to my own devices is when I screwed up. Fortunately, my wife wasn't on the bike with me last Friday for the "grand finale". But to be honest with you, I am more nervous driving my car at night from town to Bacong then I was riding my bike during the day.

Motor bikes is not for everyone!

Motorbikes have 2 wheels, and a good balance and good concentration is required to handle the bike. Basic training should be bicycling the get your balance and concentration in order. Than a small motor bike in an area we little traffic and later on in the city. Again, some people can never learn how to bicycle nor driving a motorbike. Poor balance and lack of concentration are some of many reasons, another one is being afraid of most everything while driving.

3 years ago I rented a motor bike in Dumaguete drove it around the corner and than picked up my wife and we have since been driving most every day.

As a young man I bicycled and later owned a moped until I could start driving a car. So from age 18 till 66 I never drove any bike. But I was immediately comfortable on the bike that day in Dumaguete 3 years ago.

We love driving our Yama both nort and south and we often do. In my opinion a car is meaningless in Dumaguete, more stops than go. Cars are a good for the ones who need them, and the reasons are many.....
By the way..... make all dark and black tinted windows on cars illegal.... maybe people behind black windows are similar to the Bike drivers behind Helmets and T-shirts. Who knows?

    NEVER DRINK AND DRIVE!

    Bad tint job.

One of my brother-in-law's cars has that tinting. It's just as bad seeing out as it is seeing in. Either the film they use is really cheap or the heat here dries the coating pretty quickly. I really hate driving it at night but sometimes I have to. Certainly makes me be more cautious at night whether on a bike, pedicab or even walking.
