    Hi KDF!

The manmade lakes are springfed. There are overhanging trees over the water so it's impossible to know if there are old broken branches underwater.

My guest was using 6lb line and a cute spinning reel since he is into light lining, thus the unwanted but necessary kayak assist. He told me he is upsizing his gear when he comes back after receiving a whipping from the snakehead hehe.

    I'm using 20lb so I'm ok .

If you love carp, there is carp here and please teach me, i'm lazy to break the carp code

Guided an employee of Central Bank of the Philippines (BSP) on a Dorado hunt in Siaton. The dorados where nowhere to be found so we ended up fishing for tripletails when we spotted them. Tripletails turned out to be equally fun.

just click this link, video embedding seems not to work now.

After several months of not using my little pumpboat January, I decided to take her out for jigging this morning, I caught a red snapper and rosy jobfish on this outing.

I used a heavy jighead shown in the video and worked the bottom column.

When the action slowed down, I decided to troll and target pelagics but when I cranked the engine the cord ripped in 3 pcs so I paddled 5km back to shore.

She made sure I was out far at sea to spank me for not taking care of her.

Paddling a flat bottom pumpboat with the props and outriggers dragging is a pain in the butt. I just put my back on it cuz it was calm waters anyway and the drift is slowly pushing to shore...

5km paddle = sore body. Sorry January.

Some parts of the vid using (iphone with waterproof bag) are very confusing as it is hard to film while reeling in the fish but next week hopefully my GoPro Hero 3 will arrive and can share better and steadier footages.

Cool stuff Mike! I know all about rowing/paddling! A friend and I once had to paddle my 18' Hobie Cat approx two miles back to the harbor in So Cal after the wind abruptly died. No fun! At least the current and wind (or lack of!) was in your favor!

As far as embedding youtube videos, some websites, like DI, won't let you use the shortcut/redirected link for an embedded video. Example: any youtube video that begins like this - youtu.be.... won't work.

It needs to start with youtube.... instead, and then it will embed fine.

I am really amazed at the GoPro cameras. I've seen some very amazing videos they take. They seem to hold up fine, even after a lot of abuse!

    Keep up the good work!

4 young anglers from Bacolod booked with Third World Fishing for June 6. They drove hundreds of kilometers to hunt down their quarry.

"Thank you TWF! We had fun. Very good accommodation and reasonable price. We had a very memorable trip because the weather was cooperating and the boat man was nice. We're planning to fish again in a few weeks." - Chris Yanson

At 3PM we left Dumaguete, Negros mainland for Sumilon Island. When we got there, wife and daughter stayed on the beach while I casted for an hour in the reef, got hooked up twice with rainbow runners but they seem to slip away near the boat. Still exciting to get tugged tho. Joined them for a swim and got back in the mainland by nightfall.

I still need to acquire an ideal light jigging gear but for the meantime I use my baitcasting gear as a substitute for some quickie fishing.
