Or install a fully automatic toilet on the boulevard like in Paris:
    Find public toilets in Paris

Good luck. But remember where you are.
Be carefull what you wish for. Those of you that can read between the lines get my drift.

Every time it rains here they get flushed. I don't see the problem.

    So anyone with updates?

I don't see the City participating in a single thing. No flyers promoting environmental awareness and no banners anywhere, etc.

    here's another update:

2go.com has a ferry that's still pouring soot over the city of Dumaguete. I posted some in another thread a few weeks back and here's yet another boat tonight! They certainly aren't celebrating environmental month.

And then this comes over the city for us and all our children to breath:

It's not so much what you see , taste, or smell that might kill you. Remember cabon monoxide for one is colorless, odorless, and tasteless. Note all the pedicabs, motorcycles, cars, trucks, and so forth sprewing out this and many other neat inhalants while you are sitting on the Blvd. enjoying your beer, cup of tea, or ? Better yet go about two blocks west and take a few nice deep breaths. You are almost sucking on a tailpipe where you are, that ship won't hurt you much.
Not trying to ruin your day, but just be aware of the more real (invisable) dangers than that ship.
    Best wishes.
Attn: Any Silliman kids reading. Study something like inhalation therapy as you are soon going to be in high demand along with audiologists and hearing aid suppliers. And any casket builders out there, you'd be wise to offer a model with heavy duty handles and re-enforced flooring. Take care. Enjoy what you can while you can. Now, just take a deep breath, let it out slow, and relax.

I spoke with Armand Adanza at ENRO this afternoon. He has been given the responsibility of the Clean-up Day in Dumaguete this Saturday, June 16th. I had been to ENRO a few times already but was never able to meet with him until today. He had already heard that I may be interested to get some people together to help out so he offered us Rizal Boulevard (Barangay 4). He told me that he had met with all the Barangay Captains to have the schools in their areas participate as well as the local residents.

I don't know how this will turn out nor how many people will make an effort throughout the city. However, I do know that if everybody just sits around on their butts, then it is obvious that nothing will ever happen! Many of you (us) spend a considerable amount of time complaining about how dirty this city is. You now have a chance to join me this Saturday to make a small effort to show others that WE care. We have the opportunity to set an example to the community. Please try to join in and show our Philippine hosts that we are interested in living in a clean city. It starts with this small step. I remember clearly, back in the early 70's, in my home town in Prince Edward Island, Canada; we ALL threw our garbage out the windows of our cars; the dump site pushed the garbage off the cliff into the sea; and many of the older gents (and us kids as well) would spit and pi$$ wherever they (we) felt like it. A clean-up campaign started one year, similar to this one with the scouts, 4-H CLub, and other school groups out cleaning up parts of town; then an advertising campaign was started by the Provincial government and eventually the mind-set changed and we started becoming more responsible with respect to the envirnoment. Today, PEI is one of the cleanest places you will see.

So, please, come and join us this Saturday morning at 7am sharp, on the grass across from Bethel Guest House. We will walk up the Boulevard cleaning up the trash and if you all feel like it, we can move over to Rizal Park in front of McDonald's and do the same. Please post your interest on this thread or PM me so I will have an idea how many are coming. I will provide trash bags. It will definitely not take more that 30 minutes to an hour.

By the way, the Governor has already been informed by ENRO that some foreigners will be participating in the clean-up so, please, don't make me shy ... show-up!

    Thanks in advance,

    Steve
