    Hi,

We have about 6 days from when we arrive in Dumaguete till we leave for Bohol. Our original plan was 2 nights in Dumaguete with a day trip up to Bais for dophin watching before heading out for 4 nights on Siquijor, doing some diving and hopefully visiting Apo.

After a lot of research we are not 100% sure if Siquijor is right for us to stay 4 nights and maybe just worth a day trip...so we were thinking of spending the 4 days down the coast south of Dumaguete, maybe in Dauin and/or Zamboanga or anywhere else there. That way we could easily do a day trip to Apo & Siquijor and should be able to do a couple of days diving out of there.

What would anyone who has done either or both recommend? We are going in mid-Jan so could just "wing it" otherwise?

Siquijor is not known for it's nightlife, however the sunsets from San Juan are incredible. There is nothing like seeing the sun set on the "Horns of Negros" from Siquijor. It is a good time of year, the water is smooth and the beaches are white. The two most popular resorts are Coral Cay and Coco Grove. There is a new resort called the Danish Lagoon that has wonderful owners, incredible rooms and beautiful views.

Another option would be to take the fast craft across from Sibulan to the island of Cebu. There are also white sands and clear waters with a few resorts. I hear there is a phenomenon right on the tip where the tides swirl like a whirlpool once a day as the tides change direction and the locals all go out in their bancas and enjoy the ride while it lasts.

    Have fun!

Depending on your budget, you would have several choices in Dauin/Zambo to choose from, some with Padi dive centers. They range from 2 star to 5 star. Some of the ones frequently mentioned on this site are El Dorado, Mike's, Atmosphere, Atlantis, Puerta Cita, and plenty of others like Bahura and Antulang. You can find them on the internet. Bon voyage.
