You mean the guys in the geriatric MCs? They are harmless. Their bones are too brittle to fight and they don't ride faster than 50kph oh the highways.

Well I wasn’t really referring to lovesick or sexually deprived elderly men who still think they are guapo but who in reality look like wrinkled-up old hippies with long grey hair, yellow teeth and beer breath and who cant get old gracefully. Pretty young girls don’t really want such people in their lives and probably could not love them although they could pretend to if the $ was right. No, this used to be a much poorer place than it is today. Thirty years ago I was here on visits, having them ask me for penpals (I was married to a Filipina) but with single American friends, seeing it obvious that, given a choice, they would marry someone their own age who speaks their own language and shares the same culture. But back then, many were so poor that they went after the Americans for the money. And, it wasn’t a bad thing as long as both were honest. Now the country is wealthier, much wealthier really. The Asian prosperity has finally arrived here. Now the women are probably more like their 1st generation fil-am counterparts, already in America, already wealthy and certainly not interested in some dirty old man who thinks he is still guapo haha. With money, they can afford to be independent.

For me it's more the mother whining " my child don't do things like this" while the kid is caught redhanded.

I don’t think they even care as much about dogs as we do. No, its the new attitude. There is a new Filipino pride here that becomes grated when foreigners are perceived to disrespect the culture. Even by improperly parking your vehicle. And they are taking action at the city government level. The people millennials and even gen x often reject the past and do not feel the bonds of friendship as their parents did to the USA, as Americans have always had for the UK for example.

Boiling water is commonly used to keep dogs away in market and other places. It speaks for itself, how painful it is, seen many dogs suffer during that treatment. Compare that with a kick in the air from a expat guy, little drunk in the morning, who gets the headlines ????????

Actually has anyone out there ever taken a good long look at these dogs that are wandering the streets? a huge percentage of them have multiple machette wounds on their backs or burns from boiling water being thrown on them. I for one do not appreciate a filipino lecturing me on treatment of animals.

I'm starting to believe that 'dog kicker' story is here to stay - never to go away.
