Thanks Pat, I will contact Dumaguete Home Rentals. I hear a lot about there being no traffic lights in Dumaguete, but I don't think I have seen many in Bacolod either... Since my son's accident we have never lived anywhere with legislated and fully implemented accessibility for disabled people. In Hong Kong there is a lot of effort in this direction and nearly all public transport is now wheelchair accessible, but the city's natural features (hilly) and old public infrastructure (pedestrian footbridges) are definitely non wheelchair friendly . The people -- bus drivers, guards at buildings and the general public -- are extremely helpful and sympathetic, as they are in the Philippines. We are used to taking back entrances and freight elevators (there is no way my son could use an escalator). In a non-accessible country you have to depend on lots of paid help + the kindness of strangers.
    Any other ideas very welcome!
