Infection Fatality Ratio (IFR): The number of individuals who die of the disease among all infected individuals (symptomatic and asymptomatic). This parameter is not necessarily equivalent to the number of reported deaths per reported case because many cases and deaths are never confirmed to be COVID-19, and there is a lag in time between when people are infected and when they die. This parameter also reflects the existing standard of care, which may vary by location and may be affected by the introduction of new therapeutics.
Pretty scary stuff.![]()

I don't think there are many cases BUT if asymptomatics get reinfected then in most cases we would not know. The only figures will be those who had the disease, apparently recovered and then got a second dose. But this is unclear as no one really knows if it is due to a different strain (e.g. the common cold being caused by a variety of viruses, mostly corona and rhino, and within those groups are many strains) or weak immune response from the first infection or originally a false diagnosis (if not based on scientific testing or inaccurate testing).
The answers are out there but I really don't think, in spite of all the help the Forum has given the World on this subject (
), that there are many clear answers on any of this.
It will take years to figure it all out.-

100% in agreement with you—-better treat each one with a bit of suspicion by complying with basic health practices.-

The asymptomatics as they call them— some of them will experience symptoms later and some of them may have really strong immune systems that their bodies are able to fight the virus but nevertheless infect others. They won’t remain as such though. That is why we need to wear masks in order to protect ourselves and others. We could be asymptomatic too —-so let’s continue to observe health protocols by treating everyone as asymptomatic.-

Ok, but you still don't know how many people had it without symptoms (and we still don't know).

There are many reports of various new strains of the virus which causes Covid-19 - it is likely that some will be weaker than the original. Some might be stronger - but more lethal viruses often poorly spread.-

This appears to have always been the case. Most people (99.xx%?, we aren't completely sure on the last two decimal points yet) recover. I don't think it has weakend any.
