Just went with R for a short trip to Moalboal to meet the Dane and some more friends. We decided to use bus and ferry only and skip the pick up service of the resort in moalboal to safe some peso for cold beer with the Dane. The trip went smooth and the private pick-up would not be much faster, just 2200 peso more expensive from Bato to the resort. 8:45am catching trike to Ceres Terminal (20 peso) 9:00am Ceres-Liner to Tampi (20 peso each – I think 30 peso with Aircon Bus) There is a bus going north each few minutes, so no need to wait very long. 9:30am Arrival in Tampi – Ferry to Bato on Tampi Cebu A Maayo Shipping Lines Ferry was waiting there to leave at 9:45am. (70 peso each) 10:18am arrival im Bato At the Bato Terminal we just walked to the street and waited for a Ceres bus going up north direction Cebu via Moalboal. We waited no 30 minutes, having a small snack at an eatery there. 10:45am Ceres Liner – direction Cebu (non-aircon 70 peso each) 12:25 arrival at Moalboal Public Market From there we took an overpriced trike to our resort at the beach (150 peso). One can have it cheaper, but I was hungry and not in a mood to deal with trikedriver. A 10 minute ride to the resort and the trip was done for all together 490 Peso for Rechel and me. Longer trip report here
I did the same trip by motorbike, it is also an easy way to do it and the road is good to drive by mororbike also Greetins J.Diver
Moalboal trike mafia is a disgrace, but 150 is on the high side, to Panagsama at least. They want 150 for the further-away White Beach. Usual foreigner price is 100 to Panagsama. Locals pay 20. You really want to rent a bike in Moalboal, luckily there's enough competition to keep prices down. another way to reach Moalboal from D'gete, though it will usually take longer is to take the highway up the east side of Negros to Guihulngan 85km to the north, where ferries leave three times a day for the port of Dumanjug on Cebu. From there it's only 12km in a trike south to Moalboal.
