 Hi, i am the DNG. I am Richard, 40, retired, say 'hi' if u see me around, i am unmistakeable, short, fat and balding ginger hair !!!
I am here in phil living on a tiny amount of money and even less now with the pound - pesos rate is so d*mn low!! Hopefully I will arrive around the end of May, and will most likely stay in Harolds Inn, unless someone advises me somewhere else. I am looking for somewhere to rent for one or two months before i go up to Bacolod, so if anyone knows of somewhere to rent short term, for less than 18000php, i would really appreciate the info. I will be coming over with all my whole life strapped to my XRM, one concern is about the plates, i am still on temp plates, and will be for the foreseeable future, is there any issue with cebu temp plates, in Dumaguete....?
Finally, the wet season is approaching how bad do the roads get around Negros, will i still be able to explore to my hearts desire during the rain ? Well hopefully i will get to meet some of you soon, maybe even buy u a beer, but only one, you'll all have to share it.....

Well hello, DNG Richard! Welcome to DI. There are many new hotels downtown that make Harold's kind of obsolete. Palwa, Nicanor, and Check Inn to name just a few. All are under P1000/night.

If the plates are current, no problem. Be advised there are occasional checkpoints, so if not current, be on the lookout. They set up checkpoints most often south of the new Robinson's Mall, but also set up elsewhere too. You won't have much trouble going where you want to go on an XRM, although you may get a bit dampish at times.

Always willing to share a keg of beer when someone else is buying! Rhoody doesn't always buy enough for us.

Bacong Apartments has unfurnished houses and furnished apartments for rent as available. 1-2 bedrooms.

    Ask for Charlene

    Tel: 035-226-2051

    Cell: 09204809431

She also sometimes knows what else is available in the area

The Bacong area, in my opinion, is cleaner and quieter than Dumaguete, and is only 5 minutes from the city limits of Dumaguete, and 10-15 minutes from downtown Dumaguete.
