The description is accurate, I once hit a pothole there that was so bad it disabled my car which wasn't a lowrider by any means as I had equipped it with 750 Lb/inch racing springs in the front and heavy duty leafs in the rear and ran the largest tires that would clear.

I agree here. One instance being given of a large pot hole in a small section of roadway doesn't mean the roads are as bad in the US as the Philippines. I've hit one before as well that blew my tires damaged my rims (on a truck) in the US out on a country road. I've hit a couple that knocked my wheels out of alignment. These all happened in rural areas after winter (when the water/ice does significant damage to roadways).

There is a reason you are hard pressed to find wheel alignment services in the Philippines.....by the time you make it 1km away from the shop you would be out of alignment again. They are lucky it doesn't freeze in the Philippines, the roads here would look half constructed cobblestone roads.

I gave the city of Alvarado as an example, not the entire state of Texas. The city of Alvarado could give lessons to a Philippine city in corruption and incompetence. Last time I talked to a friend there, his water bill was $240 a month for a small one bedroom house with two people and no pool. A former state senator Don McNiel bought/ donated the police cruisers. If the city cruisers of Alvarado set wheels on I-35W and are caught by the Department of Public Safety they will be escorted back into the city. The city of Alvarado city Jail burned down and the officers fled without releasing the prisoners or trying to extinguish the fire, if you think their city maintained streets are better than the Philippines, without having seen for yourself, you are welcome to it. There was also a case there of someone fined for repairing potholes himself at his own expense. Jack can probably sympathize after his experience cleaning the gutters here. Whatever.

I have seen some Mexican roads, are you familiar with them? They vary widely. It also should be kept firmly in mind that the government of the United States of Mexico is not in control of the entire country inside the borders they claim.

Jack, I think it would buy a lot of lechon for the planning commission. Maybe the 31 million could be used to fund a study on what to do with the 31 million?
