you have to go from San Jose (Tampi) to Bato and then from Argao to Loon

combined one way fare is about 1700 peso for a van and 700 for an XL200

about 3 hours driving and 3 hours on ferries

Thanks Cebudiver for the prompt reply.
I looked on the net for Bato and Argao, and they looked beautiful places.
I will probably stay and explore them.

if you stay near Bato, may I recommend this place?
    index
we have been fully booked since february with a group of japaneese laying fiber optic cable across the straight but they should be finishing by mid june

marine village is also OK, but overpriced IMO - thats why the japaneese employees moved from there to our place ...

the drive from Bato to Argao is scenic but the road is twisty in places - watch out for the oncoming ceres busses and v-hires
... there is a nice place in Alcoy on the left side of the road on top of the hill - look for the large cogan grass roof

when you get to Loon, note the churches en-route to tagbilaran - the chocolate hills are nice for 30 min or so but not really a place to linger ... if you are into the 60's ...janis, the dead and such... nuts huts is a nice getaway - if not, the artsy theme and the butterflies get boring after awhile-the tarsiers are interesting - in the wild at sunset - not at the tourist trap near nuts... alona is a little overtouristed but the diving at balikasag is great
