- The police of Dumaguete City has Thursday the city ordinance 115 for curfew for children from 2006 implemented. Four police cars have found yesterday after 22:00 in various districts a total of 12 children. If they have not been enforcing it, why do they set off the freakin air raid siren every night at 9:45 and 10:00???
It should last all this week and maybe even into next week, then the police will be tired of this requirement and get back to sitting watching the television in the station.
Mandaue sets curfew for children in Cebu - The Mandaue City Police Office (MCPO) has implemented Thursday, the city ordinance for anti loitering of children from the year 1999 !!! The MCPO has discovered after 22:00 in various districts, a total of 55 children loitering yesterday. The children's names were recorded by the Women and Children Desk of MCPO and the children were handed over to their parents. Just started remembering one of the Naked Gun movies with Leslie Nelson. They couldn't figure out how to disarm a nuclear bomb and as it was seconds from going off Leslie Nelson's character tripped over the power cord thus unplugging it, nuclear disaster solved. I wonder if they tried unplugging the damned thing...
Yes, I've been in Cebu city a couple of times before, in the 28 years I've lived as permanent resident in Dumaguete city. Most times, I've stayed in Mandaue City, Mactan island and more affluent areas too, as far as I know/remember, they have always done this. Perhaps it's just media only now just catching up with what is right/correct/ moral, etc etc....Then jumping on the DUH-30 bandwagon.
