I have not made the trip, but have a couple friends who have. They both travelled via CDO. Camiguin to CDO, then CDO to DGT. However, I would imagine one could take a smaller pumpboat to Bohol, then hop a fastcraft in Tagbilaran. Just make sure the pumpboat is dropping you in Tagbilaran!

Was that direct from CDO? I have a friend who did the trip last year and went out of some port by slow ferry (can't remember the name of the town at the moment) about 1 hr bus-ride from CDO. Real chore to get to Camiguin. They weren't thrilled.

We were supposed to go there last trip but I found out at the last minute - even it was still on their website - SEAIR doesn't fly there anymore. Couldn't be bothered with buses and boats...Wonder if anyone is using the 'new' Camiguin airport.....I believe it was improved in late 2007....I don't see flights listed by anyone now...

I recently read there is a new 'fast' ferry service between Jagna on Bohol and Benoni port on Camiguin....Not bad if true...that area of Bohol is beautiful...and there are a couple very nice resorts Anda way a little north of Jagna. Have to check this ferry out next trip....

You are talking about the bus ride from CDO to Balingoan Pier, in Balingoan. You would then leave Balingoan Pier for Benoni Wharf on Camiguin.

There is also an overnight boat that leaves every Friday night at 8pm, from Pier 8 in Cebu City. The shipping line is Super Shuttle Ferry. It arrives early the following morning on Camiguin Island. The return trip is the following Sunday evening, arriving back in Cebu on Monday morning.

Mate, trust me, going by boat can be a very nice experience in this country, especially if you haven't done it before. A good nights rest, the warm, fresh Philippine sea air, and a beautiful Filipina on your arm as you look out over the water simply can't be beaten.

Thanks Paul...I'm pretty sure that is the town, you're correct. They took a small RO-RO ferry of there...dog slow but they got there - they grumbled about the whole trip except on Camiguin itself which they loved - Neither is Filipino though - one aussie and his Chinese wife . Thanks for the info about the Cebu ferry. I'm likely to give the boat out of Jagna a try next trip....we're keen to go there. But if plans change the thought of the Cebu alternative is growing on me....got two out of three...and if I get drunk enough...LOL....I'm joking really......got an angel...

That will be fine, as long as he can get the schedules right on each leg of the trip. If not, he (and others coming to visit him) will be waiting, for possible lengthy times, on boats.

The schedule from Cebu to Camiguin is on time, on a set schedule, and only one boat to board from Cebu City, at Super Shuttle Ferries pier 8.
