And this is Franko I assume. When are you getting back from Canada? And how many accounts do you have on this thing?

The problem I always find in joint ventures is that they usually...

    1) Lack focus and fizzle out after a lot of talk.

    2) Don't start from a place of serious effort that any venture requires.

The second point is important. Starting a business (venture) is no small undertaking. And if it's worth doing, then it's worth doing big. If it's valuable, then someone else is going to notice and kick your @ss if you aren't willing to go as deep as that rabbit hole allows (and it's deep!)

Any developer worth his / her salt and needs to make a living is already loaded with work to help in that pursuit. Developers in the Philippines are likely loaded up with the sort of remote work with destroys work and life balance. that's because work / life balance doesn't exist, it's a myth. That means, there is little to no distinction between a day job and spare time.

For any developer to go into a joint venture is not to be taken lightly. To say yes to one possible business is to say no to the countless other possibilities out there. There are lots of exciting opportunities today, our time is limited and we only live once.

As you can tell, I'm not a big fan / believer in the idea of lifestyle design or lifestyle business. I think that's another myth.

So, if you want to go joint venture, I would say have a pitch ready with a solid plan (as well as solid results to show what you can bring to the table) and a proposal for the role the developer would fill.

Also, Franko, not trying to single you out. I was thinking the same thing. Wow, developers, I would love to get something going with someone here.

But then I started thinking about the reality of my time and the time that someone else might have available. I have no time available. Any other possible project would have to be compelling enough to knock an existing project off my plate. And the opportunity costs to that could be quite high depending on what the developer has going on.

Ah, I see. You had to go back to Canada after the first club. You are here now.

Sweet, that's three people at least now. I was actually going to suggest Franko, but I wasn't sure he was still around.

And yes, Franko, you would be perfect for a Wordpress meetup.

@The Dude, you have me at a disadvantage as I do not know who you are. I was not really looking for a Wordpress developer. The Wordpress sites I have in mind can be built via Fiverr.com for 5 bucks.

I just thought it would be nice to sit down and speak with someone who had basic knowledge with Wordpress, Adsense and Marketing. Maybe try a few things to make money online. At the very least, just talk about Wordpress and Marketing etc. Nothing intense.

Yes I am back in Dumaguete. Left a few years back. Spent time in Canada and Cali, Colombia. Had an SEO company in Angeles City. Retired from all of this but still like play around with marketing ideas. I have been some work doing Reputation Management that is rewarding. I wish I still had the big house I rented last time I was here. I would love to have Nerd Party LOL.

Glad to see more people here! I've got a private message form another member, so there are 4 of us already. Plus my neighbor is quite a successful SEO specialist, I hope he will join so there are 5-6 of us already.

I suggest we just meet and have dinner with some drinks for the first time, share our stories, speak about our current projects and discuss our further meetings that can have more official part with member's presentations/speeches.
