Do you think for one minute the police here in the Philippines are going to question if the video was of him or if it was placed on the phone after he was murdered? Do you think for one minute that their aren't a lot of corrupt police officers out there who for a few thousand peso's may have been the one to put the sdcard with said video's in his phone to begin with?

I'd be questioning how the police even know the girls are minors unless they know who the murderer was and the situation to know the girl indeed was a minor. There are a number of 18+ year old girls still in HS (incase their was a uniform involved) and there are plenty of 15-16 year old girls who could easily pass for 19 and plenty of 19-20 year old girls people may think are 15-16.

Then like suggested how do we know he is the one in the video as the odds are like Wyre said that his face was never shown (did they identify him off of his dong?) as generally there is no camera man and the video would be on the girl and NOT his face. (always the chance though that the video had a short bit of his face though).

Point is there are a LOT of gaps and oddities but is it the police's fault or really just an article that lacks answers as many do.

 

I just have one question to ask you. Do you know what this symbol means{?} If someone asks a question, it means they are NOT making an assumption. If you can't grasp that, it doesn't matter which school you went to, but you might want to see about an at least partial refund.

Just for you Cerne, since most people already know and don't need to be told. When a sentence ends with a question mark, it's a question, not an assumption. If you want to try and show something that might lend some credence to your statement that a question mark at the end of a sentence might mean someone is making an assumption, I would consent to view it. That is the lesson plan for today, removing yourself from an untenable position.

 

Think about this? The police wouldn't need to know the murderer to know who the girls are.

They might know the girls in question, recognize them from the video, and the video is on this guys phone? If they do know the girls, did they get another old white guy to have sex with the girls and film it just to frame this Dutch guy?

It's possible it was a frame job, I myself listed the ways someone could put porn on a phone but all of them take time and involve touching the body and the phone at a time when one should be leaving the area. Another good one, faster would be to load porn on a phone and switch the phones out, but it might look like an obvious plant not having the dead man's personal information. I think there may be follow up to this story as it involves "the evil foreigner" and maybe we can glean some more information from that article.

 

ChMacQueen posted on this topic that the legal age of consent for a girl is age 12. That is incorrect and could get guys in trouble. Apparently age 12 consent is an old law that has been updated to age 18 for legal consent.
A few years ago the U.S. Consular in Cebu told me he had 62 Americans in the slammer for sex with underage girls. Poison ivy guys!

 

Like I said Pat, its a tricky thing. The *age of consent* is indeed 12 for sex. However two other laws come into place one being its illegal to be in the same room as a minor (I believe the law states 16 though for this). The bigger law is used that its a crime to manipulate or coerce a minor for sex.

In the end its not considered statutory rape if a guy has sex with a minor if not under 12 in the Philippines. Yet these other laws still make it a crime because of claim of coercion, manipulation, or having a non blood related minor in the same room. The Philippines also defines a minor as under the age of 18. The thing with this set of laws is that it allows sex with a minor to be able to have prosecutorial discretion. A foreigner will always be said to have coerced and manipulated the minor to have sex yet this is why a local Filipino in his 20's never gets in trouble for having sex with a 15 year old girl (extremely common) unless the parents protest and then rarely anything is still done because she's a GF so its alright supposedly.

A few foreigners have tried this trick as well which is NOT advisable as it may work when everyone is happy but soon as they aren't the foreigner is still screwed. The thing is assuming she is 16ish and making her a GF where you support her. Further getting parents written (and notarized) permission for the relationship before it begins which generally means taking good care of the entire family (by their standards) and taking good care of the girl including school/college. Some guys have gotten away with that for some years BUT as soon as she or her family isn't happy they aren't getting the money they want then its a whole different story.

old men with girls the same age as their grand kids if not younger ( now im not implying the girls are underage in no way ) but if the girls are a 1/3rd of your age or less....if thats not taking advantage i dont know what is.... you should have a serious look at your selves.......

what a sad and miserable life....why not just hire a nurse....

 

The old guys would maybe be more sad and miserable without them and the girls more sad and miserable without the financial support they definitely would not get from a Filipino, each to their own ! (as long as it's not my daughter)

The older I get the more libertarian I become. My opinions have definitely changed in the last few years, from conservative to libertarian based on experience after assessing the outcome of many of those conservative views. One of those views is about age difference for some foreigners and Filipinas. I agree with most of what you guys are saying but who am I that I should make rules for someone else? Is it because I'm smarter, whiter, better educated or because I'm american I have a right to even voice my opinion on what they are doing? I do/will not even voice my opinion between two consenting adults, no matter their age difference because it is none of my business. BTW My wife was in her 30s when we met and married and after almost 10 years we are still madly in love with each other....me, I'm older than dirt.

 

It may look sick to some seeing an 18 year old with a 70 year old guy (or maybe a few more then some) yet they are both adults still.

What HE may want:
1. He wants someone to feel young with again and while he can't be young and maybe even wears adult diapers having a young honey can help him feel young and energetic.
2. He doesn't want someone used up by time, hard work, or past relationships with excess baggage. Many Filipina's who are 30+ one will find they are married already even is split yet here that is still problematic for either party involved. You can't trust her if she says she is single because its just what is done here and if she doesn't lie she probably won't be taken seriously at all.
3. He wants someone he can talk to and enjoy things with. Older women are less likely to speak English or have any world experience and less likely to be able to learn new things. Older women are more likely to be set in their ways and unable or unwilling to change or adapt.
4. He wants to be in control. Many foreigners here were used and abused mentally and emotionally by ex's and multiple ex's over the years being played hard for what she wants. Him trying to get some of what he wants out of a relationship while having to give her everything she wants. He wants to be on the bigger receiving end in his mind for a change. The older a gal gets the bigger chance she will be demanding and controlling as a more independent woman unless from a poor/uneducated family which again brings up other issues.
5. He wants sex and enjoyable / non boring sex. Easier to train a younger girl not so set in her ways or that may be a bit more adventurous.

What SHE may want:
1. She wants someone that is romantic and affectionate. Filipino's are NOT this.
2. She wants someone she can actually have a chat with and see/experience/learn new things from/with. Filipino's are NOT this.
3. She wants someone she feels financially secure and taken care of with at least short term. Where is the food going to come from, is there going to be a roof over her head tomorrow, how about medical needs?
4. She wants a mixed/light skin baby eventually knowing from a young age she wants kids in her life she'd rather they be lighter skinned.
5. She plain out wants money and/or to go to another country.

What HE wants he is more likely with a younger gal then one his own age or a few years younger. It may be 15 years younger or 30 years younger but all depends. What SHE wants the average Filipino guy will NOT ever deliver on and are less able to be trusted then foreigners. Foreigner *might* cheat on her but in her mind the Filipino *will* cheat on her. The Foreigner will take care of her needs in her mind while the Filipino will take care of his own and his buddies needs first (tanduay and cigarettes). She doesn't have a choice to find some young 20-35 year old foreigner here that is in her age range and those she might meet in college or online are very unlikely to have the money themselves to support a real relationship and further. Those online who are younger will probably never save up the money to visit let alone become a couple with.
