DAVAO CITY – Presumptive President Rodrigo Duterte has a warning for corrupt policemen, including generals: Resign or retire before I take office. "If you are tainted with drugs or if you are facing charges sa drugs, sinabi ko na doon sa generals na bulungan na lang na walk quietly. I would be happy if they would retire na may makuha pa sila kaysa wala. Rather than be named publicly for treason," he told reporters late Sunday night. Duterte repeated this again during his press conference on Monday afternoon. The presumptive President repeatedly said that he will reform the PNP first to combat criminality, especially drug-related activities. Under the Constitution, the newly-elected President will assume office noontime of June 30.
I have my doubts about this issue from duterte and reforms of the pnp. It seems to me the local mayor says yeah or nay about what goes on in each municiple area,I think we must have had around 20 different police chiefs during the last 5 years in bacong. And the mayor seems to be the one who changes them on a regular basis and says what they should be doing except the check points which comes from head office.
