My Wife's attitude is, we have seen them Come and seen them Go, we still got corruption and we still have to pay Taxes.
Don't matter who the next one is, the day after the Election it is back to Normal.
    What can I say?

Numbeo is based off of people's "perceptions" and not actual crime statistics. (and there is absolutely no residency requirement to vote for any city or how many accounts a person can create to vote)
Yeah, and people thought they were getting "change" with Aquino as well......all he has given is a lot more of the same. The two most likely scenarios if Duterte gets elected is that either he becomes a dictator and forces his will on the people through military force, or he will be a lame duck president because he is, after all, just one elected official in one of the three branches of government.....and those other two branches (one that actually makes the laws and the other who determines if the laws are constitutional) will still be controlled by the same oligarchs that control it right now. If Duterte thinks for one second that he can activate his death squads in Manila against the oligarchs they will have him killed before he even decides on his first victim.

Duterte has already came out and said that the Americans should just go home. Do all these expats really think the average Filipino is going to care if you are European or American? They call anyone that is not a Filipino a "kano".....what might you suppose that is short for? We will become the enemy and escape goat once they realize that Duterte's death squads don't do jack squat to stop criminality in the Philippines.

And some people just don't deserve a chance.....especially vigilante murderers. That's fine though, if those foreigners think his extrajudicial killings are alright they can have that.....just hope they don't come crying about not getting their day in court when someone falsely accuses them of a crime and sends a death squad after them simply because they are jealous of what they have or are perceived to have. Anyone who thinks that everything in the government here is corrupt except Duterte and his death squad panel is either very naive or very stupid. And I don't know why people are acting like the Philippines is all that dangerous of a place; your chances of being a victim of a violent crime are pretty much the same as most Western countries. If you are a loud mouth drunk douche bag your chances of getting in a violent altercation goes way up no matter where you live. If you mind your own business and just live your life drama free your chances go way down. They don't fight or kill here just for the sport of it. The statistics in Dumaguete show this over and over again.....the vast majority of gun violence here is drug related. Stay away from drugs and you will stay away from bullets.

But then again, there are plenty of people who support Trump in the US.....doesn't mean he has a snowballs chance in hell of winning.
