Along with any economic growth there was still rampant corruption. So much so that the UN has said they will no longer offer any help again even in the face of any disaster that may come their way. Politicians for the most part have been scrambling to fill their pockets with any money they can get their greedy hands on. Hopefully Deterte will find them out and confiscate any money and property that cannot be accounted for. Maybe for the first time in the history of the Philippines the average Filipino will be truly free! Hopeful thinking? Perhaps. As a social entity we all have to give up some of your personal freedoms for our overall safety and well being. And as Cabb rightly points out, living on 50 or less pesos a day is sad.

Many Filipinos flock to call centers to find work because they pay so much. But have any of you considered the hours they work and the deductions that are taken from their pay check? Not to mention the stress involved especially considering that most of this work is done at night! In my country working at a call center is a bottom of the line job much like working at McDonalds.

Sadly until they also confiscate all the property of the entire family nothing will change. The money just floats to someone else's name in the family. Its looked at as bad still making the rest of the family responsible for the corrupt actions of its head so they just put the money or assets after moved around a bit in someone else's name. Start taking every single thing from the entire family putting the family out on the street then things would start to change. But as long as they refuse to look at it as a family crime ring we have problems.

Working nights isn't so bad. It can be adapted to fairly easy if done right and just takes a couple of weeks. Its just not going to work trying to be up like a day worker while working at night. The issue with being a call center agent is many of the calls will be complaints and often customers who have already been complaining and dumped on who are extremely pissed are often the ones dumped on foreign call centers.

Maybe he will start with all the money the VP's family stole during their last term in the highest office in the country? :hilarious:

When I worked in the US I always went in search of companies that had night jobs. It paid more and I didn't have to deal with all the idiots during the day. They also paid extra for the night positions....but here I would be quite happy to take regular pay for the privilege to work nights. Daytime tropical 3rd world really isn't my thing. Now if only the local colleges/universities would offer night classes!

BTW: On topic: I think that when a lot of companies are offering night positions (alongside day positions) it's a sign of a healthy economy.
