That was something different, 10 minutes ago -- real sharp jolt, not the rolling rumble-shake like all day... Different epicenter, i wonder...?
That different one, an hour ago -- real sharp jolt, not the rolling rumble-shake like all day... Different epicenter, i wondered...? But no, it's reported as just the same as all day: 07 Feb 2012 - 09:08 PM 10.21 123.19 025 4.3 013 km N 44° W of Guihulngan (Negros Oriental) Hmmm, 4.3 is the strongest one since 7:30pm yesterday...
I don't know if it was mentioned in an earlier post but Robinsons' Cinemas are closed because of ceiling panels that fell during the earthquake. It is just a suspended ceiling so shouldn't be hard to fix but might be a while before they can get staging to reach the ceiling.
A disturbed post-midnight for us here, several strong shocks felt... 08 Feb 2012 - 07:43 AM 2.5 007 km N 76° W of Guihulngan (Negros Oriental) 08 Feb 2012 - 05:59 AM 4.4 004 km N 7° E of Libertad (Negros Oriental) 08 Feb 2012 - 05:20 AM 3.5 007 km N 58° W of Guihulngan (Negros Oriental) 08 Feb 2012 - 05:04 AM 2.4 001 km N 60° E of Kadingilan (Bukidnon) 08 Feb 2012 - 04:48 AM 4.3 009 km N 46° W of Guinhulngan (Negros Oriental) 08 Feb 2012 - 04:37 AM 5.1 001 km N 4° W of Guinhulngan (Negros Oriental) 08 Feb 2012 - 04:18 AM 4.3 001 km S 10° W of Tayasan (Negros Oriental) 08 Feb 2012 - 03:41 AM 3.2 002 km N 7° E of Tayasan (Negros Oriental) 08 Feb 2012 - 03:26 AM 3.5 004 km S 25° E of Mabinay (Negros Oriental) 08 Feb 2012 - 03:18 AM 3.4 008 km S 74° W of Ayungon (Negros Oriental) 08 Feb 2012 - 02:37 AM 3.4 007 km N 70° W of Guihulngan (Negros Oriental) So, for those keepin' score, since this started that's two shocks at 6.9 & 6.2, two in the 5s, and nine in the 4s! -- with a couple dozen in the 2~3 range -- that's many very strong quakes! Whole lotta Shakin' goin' on... I'm hoping it'l stop
Maybe its time to release the all those crazy "end of the world" loons I have locked up.... maybe they were right! I'm still not getting used to these shakes and now I'm trying to avoid leep plaza as much as possible as I surely don't trust that building. I'm expecting to see it crumble any day and people leaping out of the food court windows...

Sad. and i didn't know that the Prez visited... MANILA, Philippines (AP) — Philippine rescue officials say they are losing hope of finding anyone alive among 71 people still buried in landslides set off by a powerful earthquake. So far, 26 bodies have been recovered and identified. President Benigno Aquino III on Wednesday flew to the disaster area in central Negros Oriental province and gave orders to speed up the reconstruction of roads and bridges that collapsed when the magnitude-6.9 quake struck Monday. Civil defense chief Benito Ramos said the bridges were not built to sustain such a strong quake, while Aquino criticized the shoddy road construction. Philippine seismologists say they were previously unaware of the undersea fault line that caused the temblor.

All joking aside the quake has caused vast damage. GMA seem to be the only network who have traveled up the coast. La Libertad, Ayungon , Tayasan , Guihuilngan etc have all been devastated. The death toll and the number of casualties way exceed those of Decembers tropical storm. It must be the worst disaster to hit this province in a long long time. One positive is that this time Neg Or is the focus for relief as it is the worst [only?] affected province. had the epicentre been a few miles further south we would be f****d.
