I guess this is the one mentioned earlier But........................ Emigration Clearance Certification (ECC) to be available at Airports Do all the BI Staff Understand it? Whoever is trying this Route I wish you well
Then I guess the "Intrnational Office" of Silliman who assists foreign students didn't know how to ask what Duma branch knew assuming that my daughter didn't know what "Go to Cebu" meant.
In one of our visits at Duma branch, a white guy stormed in demanding a staff's name saying the Manila office wants it because of some problem caused. Oh poor Peter, trying to calm him down but eventually gave the name of his staff. I wonder if this is the place where they could also learn how to react in such situations or prevent them from happening.
BI is a little weak in the area of preventing problems. When I had to convert my 13a probationary visa to permanent, I went to BI Duma to verify the requirements and they gave me a list. All my documents were in order. Arrived in Manila one week later to find Manila BI had additional requirements. Namely a criminal record clearance from my home country. The Manila list did not even have the new requirements so they penciled them onto the sheet, I sh*t you not. They put their latest whim into place without notice or informing their offices. After some discussion they eventually issued me a "temporary permanent immigrant visa" (it's true) unfortunately there is no such thing. Ultimately they gave me a 6 month extension on my probationary 13 a visa. Well there is no such thing as a 6 month extension (there is a 3 month extension). On my way out of the country the BI emigration officer looked at the 6 month extension and said "hey no such thing" all I could say was look at the signatures and call your boss if you like. The point being the BI is not organized and they make up the rules on a whim and don't inform their field offices.
Just realized something while sitting here waiting to transfer from terminal 3 to terminal 2....I thought terminal 3 was domestic flights only? I don't recall ever making an international fight out of terminal 3. I just now asked at terminal 2 if they can do the ECC at airport and they said yes for anyone 6-12 months in country, anyone over that needs to go to a main immigration office. I still advise to play it safe and get the ECC at a main immigration branch. A memorandum came out with absolutely no warning saying they could do these at the airport, another one could come out with just as much warning taking the option away.
I have a flight out of there via Cebu Pacific to Hong Kong coming up next month so I know that Cebu Pacific has International flights from terminal 3.
Hmmm I was Under the Impression the terminal 3 was CP's Terminal Terminal 2 was PAL and all others from Terminal 1 but things Change EH?
Makes sense, I made the very unfortunate decision to fly Philippine Airlines internationally and I'm stuck in this POS terminal 2. Any time I flew with a respectable airline (not PA or CP) it was out of terminal 1...which I really wish I were in right about now, but that is for another thread. Never flew with CP internationally which is why I guess I had never left the country out of that terminal. I also remember flying out of terminal 4 once, can't remember what airline that was with. I do vaguely remember it being the worst of all the terminals (IMO anyway).
