Fire Incident at Dauin, Negros Oriental March 23, 2016 at 10:25 AM, a Fire Incident occured at El Dorado Beach Resort & Vida Homes at Barangay Lipayo. Initial investigation disclosed that at about 10:25 AM, El Dorado personnel Floro Enjambre and Carlos Bandian noticed that the chimney in the kitchen of El Dorado was already burning red hot and had already started to burn the roof of the kitchen made of cogon. Due to strong winds, firebrands from the kitchen roof made its way to nearby buildings particularly Vida Homes were also set ablaze. Due to timely response from Dauin LGU Fire Rescue Firetruck and Firetrucks from the municipalities of Valencia, Bacong, Zamboanguita as well as Dumaguete City and Chinese Fire Volunteers, the fire was successfully controlled at about 11:30 AM of same date. According to Engr. Jay Te, Engineer of Vida Homes, the estimated cost of damages to Vida Homes is Php 35 million and to El Dorado Beach is Php 20 million. Dauin PNP Chief of Police PSI EDWIN C TUBLE reminded the public to always be careful particularly in working with fire near combustible materials to avoid similar incidents.
