My previous bill the meter was read on the 20th and this bill it was read on the 22nd. Two extra days isn't 1k pesos.

Wow, I've never been able to run an aircon for a month without it being over 4k.

I really don't like or understand why the meters aren't on the actual property. I REALLY don't like that someone can flip a breaker (that is completely unsecured for any and all to see/touch) and kill my electricity 200 meters from my house. The potential security risks are huge!

There does not seem to be any "standard" on where they put the meter, some you see at the house and others are mounted on a utility pole down the street.

The last house we rented had very high electric bills, I turned off the main breaker at the panel and the meter stopped spinning. I suspect that they were tapping off the branch circuits because the electric bill was cut in half when the wife moved to the apartments we are in now (owned by her uncle). Same stuff and the same number of people, 1/2 the bill.

I also have received a higher bill this month, Some P3000 extra.
Have had the meter changed & are awaiting the bench test results from Noseco.
But like every thing here it couldn't be there equipment could it !?
Not holding my breath, but what can you do, Its not like the UK where you can shop around from at least 6 or so providers. They have the monopoly & you are screwed.

Also check your main breaker, if you can feel any heat, it could be bad and consuming more power. That could explain why only you have a brown out. That's what I found in my house.

Excellent reply, the lugs on all breakers (line and load) as well as the connections on your neutral and ground bus (if you have them in your system) should be checked, nothing more than a screwdriver to tighten things up most of the time. A loose connection is a higher resistive connection and can be found by an increase in temperature (not always easy to spot), which is an electrical loss.

Probably not what is causing Wrye's concerns with the increase in the electric bill from last month to this month, but still important to make sure connections are tight for folks moving into an older place or building as the local electricians are not too impressive in my limited experience.

I really don't understand how things work with noreco and their billing! Our bills for all four units run around 5-6k month, ours is the highest of them all. The other three units bills are between p450- p1200.
I know the rate fluctuates here but seems to run around 10.8 p kwh
A mate of mine has a small house in Valencia and his bills are also high to what we pay and he also has no aircon. Sign up to their fb page and give em a hard time
