If you use a bank ( Metrobank ) they charge about 0.8 percent for US dollars and around 1.0 percent on Canadian dollars. The street guys that hang out in front of BPI give slightly better than the bank on US dollars. WWW.XE.COM is a good source to find out the prevailing rates.
I used to use Optimum Trader. Good rates and there was always a guard at the entrance. I don't know if that is still true today.
I agree with Okie about Optimum Trader, I have used them several times. If you're flying out through Manila the exchange service at the Manila airport is also good.
When I google Optimum Trader it comes out as Plaza Dona Milagros hmm, I will take a look there, thanks for your help. I look at the exchange rate a few places and don't want use to much time to save like 100 pesos on 100 US Dollar, that's the difference I have seen, but of course, I go for the best deal, thanks again
Majority of the time, they have good rates, sometimes they don't. There is a guard posted just inside the door and another guard posted near the street.
