No, I was just curious, since to get to Manila he had to take a long flight, the one hour hop to get to Dumaguete doesn't seem like it would be much of a problem. He might just want to go by boat. I've thought about it too.

Been on that ferry from Manila to Bohol two times, first time was great we had a first class cabin and the weather was perfect. Second time we weren't that lucky, had to share a cabin like dormitory and the weather was bad, sea was rough and folks vomiting all over the place. They had entertainment on board but, never again.

My ship experiences are divided. An open air ride from Cebu to Ormoc was quite well while another ride from Manila to Bacolod were primarily a huge delay with being 22 hours too late at arrival.

Your friend can book with Cebu pacific and pay for an exit row seat near the door, i have a tall friend and is quiet comfortable in the exit row.

They are here now, in the end they took Cebu Pacific. That was my original suggestion and that of many who posted.
    Thanks!

You need to take that guy around to the backwaters and give the locals a show, I'm 6'3" and they goggle at me.

I am taking this ferry from Manila to Dumaguete in about 3 weeks time.
Will make a report on the voyage with photos for you.
I booked the best private cabin for me and the misses.
I believe it takes more then 24 hours guys, but will give you the details when the time comes

Sounds like you got the Matrimonial Cabin. Double bed and table and small chair. Enjoy the cruise, if the weather is nice enjoys watching the islands. If you have binoculars bring them, you can see what the other islands shores have to offer.
